Don't know how it would work, but that sounds like fun. Hard to do with so many money spenders as far as resources go... but could be fun

Idea does have some merit though. We have/had bloodrealm, but that never worked.

u can stop ppl trading while in the tournment so u get what u have 100 mill uu or whatever dpending on covert levels

It could be good if done right. Some things I'd like to see if it did happen;

1, Participants go to a separate realm.
2, No trading what so ever (not even MT's).
3, No UP or planets.

This is where people are going to start disagreeing...

4, All accounts go in the same. 50m army (5m atk, 5m def, 10m covert & 30m miners).
5. All accounts have 35/35, 1T MS (500b/500b).

I'm not sure on how a few things would work, Eg. Raiding being enabled or not, how someone would be knocked out and if people should start with some naq as weapons/repairs are more expensive (relatively) in main.

Thoughts?

I think the problem with giving everyone a completely equal footing on entry is that it encourages teamplay in a (possibly) one vs one situation.

I would like to see a completely random (within a parameter) realm created on entry. This is the only way to have a completely fair deathmatch which is unhinged on your power in the main server.

Would pretty much have to be that. People like stiffy who have 40/40 and what 5T ms? are going to be the winner every tournament. Could get 50-100 entrants but then only 5-10 people REALLY have a chance.

With this suggestion the tournament will be a skill test not a wallet test. Love it. Good input.

This i like but it would have to be noted from the start that this would, by no means, be a wise place for a lone wolf to tread *chuckles*

@ Gandy - Yes covert levels and MS are what makes peoples accounts different but we play every day like that. Having a Tournament every few months where everyone is on equal footing is what would make it fun in my opinion.

@ Goo - No, I've never played Q. I barely have enough time to maintain a main & ascended account. I think you'll get people teaming up no matter what, just look at the ascended tournament. I think your random idea could work if it was done right, could you give examples of what you were thinking?

I have to admit, in fairness, i was being somewhat sarcastic about the quantum thing. Fundamentally speaking it IS a deathmatch where your power in main has nothing to do with the outcome of the era. I do think it needs pointing out that a main tournament is kinda something which already exists although, admittedly, it lasts 3 months which some may find too much of a commitment. Admittedly.

If room were made on the main server for an ascended style tournament it would have to be done one of two ways in my humble opinion-
1. Encourage every man for themselves - as in ascended you do not get rewards for kills you get rewards for causing the highest amount of damage. In ascension you are given a planetary bonus depending upon your level handicap. I'm not sure if this bonus actually needs tweeking - i'm not incredibly powerful in ascended but i still do ok in tournament. I don't think i have a good chance of winning but i do enjoy taking part. At the end of the day there can be only one winner which, essentially, makes equals of us all.
2. Free for All - give entrants realms that reflect their power in the actual server and see how the big guns stand up against droves of scavengers who all want a piece of you because you are God.

Both styles appeal to me for different reasons.

if you want to stop everybody, have everything capped, so everybody has cov 36 AC 34 1t ms etc

same amount of uu and naq etc

Arena is 10% skill, 20% stats, 30% luck and 40% diplomacy.

You will never get rid of the diplomacy/team work part. NEVAH.

But yes, it would need to be balanced as dudeRanch suggested and it may work. It will still be entertaining even if it isnt balanced, try it and fine out.
