Here's the proposal:
I make a sort of mini ascended API- essentially server requests for the current user details, CER, planets, outcomes of attacklogs when sent etc.
I'll upload the current app framework to github or sourceforge or something and people can pick out things to make, after we finish the main community app you're welcome to customize it how you like WITHIN reason, for your alliance or you or whatever.
When I say within reason there are obviously restrictions. I also need to look at the code and I need a copy of it, the copy goes on the server as a check, and I'll need to 'sign' the one I look at with a DHD (apart from checking that there isn't any malicious code). There will be no app that can use the API that hasn't been signed.
Here's the question:
If I do make it open source, who will help? And I mean help, not raise their hand and run away, or not some kids who are just learning to code.
Graphics artists would most likely be needed as well, will look a fair bit bland.
If all goes well this could be converted to an iOS and we can attempt to find a free hoster.
If none help I'll just keep it a close source product.
Note: This is just for ascended right now, admin can make his own for his paid server p2p game
