Re: Ukraine Crisis
Russia will not cave in to western pressure. China will back them and the discussion ends there.

Re: Ukraine Crisis
Ukraine is ruled by thugs and was silently annexed by the 'democratic' EU. It has lost its legitimacy and is to be dissolved (before it descends into either the dangerous street anarchy or police state behind a veiled and powerless vox populi prevalent in most EU-funded satellite states).
Russia is stable, solid and undeniably just better than everyone else. Except maybe Canada and any Scandinavian country (except obviously Denmark).
The final solution, a very simple Plan for the East, as it relates to the South-Eastern section of the map:
All of Ukraine east of the Dniepr and the Black Sea oblasts of Mikolaiv and Odessa (Edisan section) should be returned to Russia. Administrative control over the Oblast of Odessa (Budzak section) should be transferred to Romania. Chernivtsi Oblast transferred to Romania. The non-functioning state of Moldova integrated into Romania. The autonomous Transnistria integrated into Odessa Oblast (Edisan). Zakarpattia Oblast transferred to Slovakia. Vinnitsya, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil, southern Zhytomyr Oblasts, Cherkasy Oblast (West of Dniepr) to 'Podolia', a semi-autonomous Republic under Russian administrative control. Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk Oblasts to Poland (Ruthenia Voivode). Brest province from Belarus to Poland, in addition to the western half of Volyn Oblast (to Ruthenia Voivode). Eastern half of Volyn Oblast, Rivne Oblast, North and Western Zhytomyr as well as Western Kiev Oblast to Belarus. Hrodna province (Belarus) to Lithuania. Pomeranian, West-Pomeranian, Lubusz, Lower Silesian, Opole and Silesian Voivode (Poland) to Germany. Belarus under Russian administrative control. (Still with me? Good people.)
Population control and subsequent relocation will help reinforce local identities and integrate newly re-integrated provinces.
Although realistically, bringing all the failed states (Kaukasus, Central and Eastern Central Asia, as well as Ukraine and Belarus back under the Russian banner and the strong hand of Vladimir Putin (who is only 62, so he can rule for another 40 years) would be the ideal solution. The Baltic States can play pretense for a while longer, but do not have any feasibility of survival or legitimacy as states.
If the West's mouth pieces in the media stopped spouting their pro western crap and stuck to reporting the facts you would see that all Russia has done is reinforce their bases in the Crimea.
There's allot more than that going on with Russia and the west but i just can't be arsed to get into it all.
Just to be clear, i'm not supporting Russia or the west. this is a game of chess, think 10 moves (at least) in advance.
This is not going to end well, and if the west imposes any sanctions on Russia this will be the start a of a new Cold War.

Re: Ukraine Crisis
Well, Ukraine coup d'Etat was backed by US and EU during Sotchi games so Russia couldn't do anything. They succeeded the day before the end of Olympic Games with forcing Yanoukovich to move away by blacklisting his family with threats of death. Considering Ukrainian army wasn't involved and only police was, while the mercs and paramilitary troops backed by US and EU took over the West and started to move to East, president had to leave also due to resign by high ranked officials of gov. Contrary to what media tells you, the Ukraine uprising is Ukrainian west based, but even though it's indeed entrepreneurs whom started it due to economic difficulties and corruption, it was quickly taken by the far right nostalgia of SS Division ultra nationalist Svoboda and Right Sector groups, those who took the street and did fight with weapons against Ukrainian police. When media tells you the opponents want all to join EU they lie, a growing part of the opponents are part of these nationalist groups harboring the black/red flag (search for the meaning, it's not anarchy this time) and 14-88 numbers (14 is a racialist symbol I'm not very aware of and 88="HH"="Heil Hitler"). Uprising the week before president had to leave was supported by 46% and opposed by 47% of Ukrainians according to polls. Now you have a self proclamed gov supported by West, with neonazis groups doing security of official western Ukrainian gov buildings. Sure the former minister Timochenko is among the likely candidates of upcoming elections, but the most worrying factor is the fact nationalistic groups are getting stronger & stronger.
Crimea is mostly Russian speaking autonomy republic, and they have a contract lasting until 2017 for Sebastopol military base with Russia. Contrary to what media say, it's NOT same as the Czechoslovakian crisis with Hitler when he invaded them: Crimean gov called for help of Russia as majority doesn't recognize the self proclamed gov. Thus the allegiance to Russia by high ranked officials of Russian navy and thousands of soldiers leaving army due to not supporting self proclamed gov. Now one can only hope diplomacy will solve the matter...
When I say media, obviously I don't include RT channel due to its obvious pro-Russia stance.

Re: Ukraine Crisis
So dissolve Ukraine. It should never have existed to begin with.
The entire notion of Baltic states (Komissariat Ostland), Belarus and Ukraine (Komissariat Ukraine) separate from Russia is fraudulent and (bad) fascist. It should never have been allowed. (To not even mention the Central Asian travesty. Solve for that: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan [to be emptied of non-Slavic population] to Russia. Kyrgystan, Tajikistan to China [to be populated by Uighurs and other irrelevant prisoners]. Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan to Iran.)
Oh, Jim, that contract about Sebastopol was extended to 2042 by Yanukovich.

Re: Ukraine Crisis
It makes me laugh when leftist western media are all supportive to opposition with barely any criticism, even Svoboda and Right Sector's opposition to Yanukovich by moderately criticizing them as they fight the "evil Putin", whereas they are usually yapping at the conservative right-wing in their own countries...(not even talking about far-right nationalist parties)
Considering these two are Ukrainian equivalent of Golden Dawn of Greece, NPD of Germany or Attack Party of Bulgaria...meaning even more radical than UK's BNP or Hungarian's Jobbik!

The Russian military has given Ukrainian forces in Crimea until 03:00 GMT on Tuesday to surrender or face an assault, Ukrainian defence sources say.

Re: Ukraine Crisis
Ha ha ha. Face being completely overrun, they mean. There is not a single Ukrainian soldier who would commit suicide by attacking the Russians when they come.RepliMagni wrote:The Russian military has given Ukrainian forces in Crimea until 03:00 GMT on Tuesday to surrender or face an assault, Ukrainian defence sources say.
I hope. All well and good, but an actual war is not that good for business. I fear we might sit in the cold for a while come next year's winter.
Anyway, Russia can flank Ukraine from the west as well. *points to the 'Russian' divisions in Transnistria*

Re: Ukraine Crisis
I am all for Russia in this. What they have done is nothing America wouldn't have done. We would protect people that are loyal to America. Russia is doing this. It seems a good portion of the people in that area support this, but America will go in to "free" the people of what they want!??
Ukraine is too fractured to remain under 1 flag, as is. I will agree with Juliette. But what does the actual population want (of various regions?) is their any survey data or what the population wants?
Even though I am a red blooded 'merican...... go RUSKI.

It has already started again. All (US coverage of the) Olympics were about what Russia did wrong and how horrible they are. So sad. Russia has come a VERY long way in a few years. US couldn't have done what they did, and now we are posturing to become enemies again.[KMA]Avenger wrote:This is not going to end well, and if the west imposes any sanctions on Russia this will be the start a of a new Cold War.Huxley wrote:Thoughts and opinions on this matter?
