Sure, here's the math;
it will take approximately 150T naq to bring the defenses of one planet up to 3T. For a fleet to scratch the planet, it would therefore need approximately 520 bil power, which is around 500k fleets. That is approximately 385k raw fleets + techs which costs in total about 750T. That means, you can fully defend 5 planets from the cost it would take to build the fleets to just scratch them. Add a 6th planet from just 55T in platforms, and another 2 from perma-merlins. That's a total of 8 untouchable planets.

But that is not all. You also have to factor into account the fact that to mass a defense of 3T with about 500k fleets will cost between 30-40T (approximately) in repairs. Then there's also the price of the fleets to worry about (~11T) if somebody happens to notice you are online.

Not true. Your forgot about the 1MT that now provides 5 merlins.
A player can easily take 9 disposable planets in a 14 day cycle and have their planets permanently protected during war and peace.

You fail to see that anyone massing a planet has to be lucky enough to not be caught, bare in mind they will have to be taking a LOT of naq out their banks....because of the alliance logs this makes this pure Luck if you can pull off a planet mass

Add this together with having a rubbish planet you can get a friend to steal, means that if you are lucky enough to scratch the planet, you also have to hope you get long enough to be able to attack it....and if you do get caught you can say goodbye to your entire fleet with little/no damage caused. If you're already at war with someone your MS and fleet won't last long anyway....it basically means people won't bother with the risk of losing fleet, ergo making them redundant

this update is almost the exact opposite of what the game actually needed - worse case scenario should have been leave them as they were

If admin is obsessed with making planets untakeable then the 3 in 24 hours rule may as well be scrapped, as chances are you won't find more then 3 in an alliance with the ability to mass them

I'm curious in the first place why admin wants to make planets THAT hard to be stolen...
All those mini updates weren't needed together, each alone isn't bad, but the addition of all makes it negative.

In my opinion:
Cheaper defense planets should be possible ONLY if fleets can go down to 12% as it was, or keep 17.5% fleets with defence planets but not cheaper def facilities. One or the other is fine, addition of both isn't.
As for 3 planets per day, I think it should be 4 or 5 max, 3 as previously mentioned can be abused.

[/spoiler]For crying out loud. Exactly how many times have i said i DON'T agree with the current setup for delay between planets? I don't like the concept of them all going in the space of 30 mins, but i also don't like the concept of only being able to take 1 every 8 hours. HENCE i said make it 3 or more over a whole day, not 1 every 8 hours.
What, you can't mass a planet in 10 mins? I had it happen to 2 of mine in the space of 15.

So the game actually needed planets to add nothing. Since every planet would be take-able by everyone, thus defending them made redundant, thus planets as a whole redundant.
