Two episodes into the new season, and it's not disappointed :D

Easily the best thing on telly imo.

*recasting has been spot on so far

Thoughts on last episode? And those who are learned enough to have read the series, please don't ruin things for us lazy folk.

I thought it was awesome, just too short!

Agreed. Although we can't complain when their episodes are just shy of an hour long. That includes days of shooting, video editing, sound editing, etc.

I'll be excited to learn more about the relationship the Lannister siblings will have. Now that Tyrion "killed" Tywin and his wife. I would guess that Jaime will begin to hate the dwarf.

For those into this show, know now that the series (it already started) will no longer match the books. The books will go a different direction than the show, allowing characters to be killed off or kept alive.

As if it hadn't changed thus far? I'm not surprised that it will 'change' permanently, but this isn't the first well loved TV show (or movie/movies) that had a book (or series of books) that then changed from the original chronology.

Every Harry Potter Film
Orange is the New Black (based on the true events, but now not historically accurate)
Lord of the Rings
How to Train your Dragon (actual books)

Of course it changed, but this time for the permanent. As in the books won't be similar in plot..

I haven't read the books yet, will it be a completely different storyline from the books now, or will it be the same general story with small details changed along the way?

If I recall what I read it will be that the story will take a turn away from the books so that no matter what you watch within the show, it will not give away anything at all within the books.

So take what you will from that. :P

Martin has also told the Producers of GoT the way in which the TV show shall end, should he die before the filming ends...
