well hopefully no one picks a canon role, I would totally prefer to have this in its own separate pocket because lets face it, introducing main stream characters would make it over done and far to complex no

as long as your character sticks to SW then I see no issue whatsoever with it JT

the canon types would best be used for covering the main story, then to keep us players from going away from the central story...

for most people it is not practically possible to fully set themselves into the mindset of a canon character. It is far better to take a mixture of known characters (and unknown ones) and come up with a new one.

oh, and Ra... Whats with the Binks obsession?
We'd guess there'd be nothing wrong with a gungan running around. if you can fit it into the central story line...

ok, if we're going for clone wars as era... when in the clone wars do we start?

I would say the best time is right after Episode II say in between 2 and 3 that way it is actually the clone wars ;)

as far as a gungan goes, thats not a ridiculous request although Jar Jar's illegitimate love child...is a bit far fetched although not impossible

It might be possible to begin a few years before the clone wars and transition into it

agreed on time. No real point in starting further out in the wars...

We've long wondered what a gungan jedi would be like... we remember back many years ago sticking jedi clothes and a gungan head on some lego figurines.
its unlikely that jar jar had any child. Apparently gungans live shorter than humans, so its theoretically plausible for a gungan tadpole with Binks as its father to have grown to maturity by the time of the clone wars. (isn't it fun how we take it so seriously?)
[spoiler2=oh, and apparently there's been a gungan sith...]Image[/spoiler2]

JT, if you've got a good idea for story, feel free to toss it out...

Here is a backdrop to start with from beginning to the last movie Return of the Jedi.

That text reeks of fan-fiction and inconsistencies. For one, the author suddenly has a name for Yoda's home planet. George lucas has vetoed any attempts at identifying such places. The author appears to lack much insight into the Extended Universe. at least one world used in the text looks to have been taken from an early rough draft of episode I, then twisted to fit a new purpose. We wonder where he got this "first supreme chancellor"... Neither his name, nor many of the other names used in that text, seems to exist in more established sources...

ok.

we got idea on how story could work and wonder what others think of it.

Instead of just picking a random planet and fighting it out there in the classic good-vs-evil-vs-everyone-else style, planets are selected, a quest or three(ish) is set up for planet, and the characters do what they want for that quest (or those quests if multiple), until it is(are) completed one way or another. Then next place is picked and process is repeated.

Does that idea seem decent?

oh, and we'll soon get a system for determining fights set up. Jason is working on one himself.

ok, got the dice thingy from jason just now.

http://7fw.com/dice/

input entries:
5-sided die.
4 of them.
name: Zer
fight IDL: battleTest001
link:
http://7fw.com/dice/?rollName=zer&rollTag=battleTest001

results:
1, 5, 3, 5
Sum: 14

should be sufficient for this RP system, wethinks.
the inclusion of such links makes it possible to regenerate the battles to recover results later, proving that you fought fairly in the RP.

we based it around the fact that it took ten days from our last post till londo's post.

Still, if someone can work out a decent plot line set, we'd gladly join in.
