Which majority LOL? I get the impression DDE wants things to go as they wish, and that's a no-go... You guys have been massing mods because you got warned (over 90% of the times I estimate rightly so those warnings, if I kept track OK of the Oms decisions and involved threads) for breaking the rules, and now you call a rule which just got re-implemented 'unfair' while the past years said rule already was in place?

I can only laugh at such things. The community doesn't revolve around DDE, nor any other alliance.

Apart DDE I have read very, very few complaints to these, mind, OLD rules being implemented BACK as they are still necessary.

Btw Jim I appreciate you!

The way you have constructed your constructive criticism is appreciated and it is something we can and will taken on board.

another point though, what of players that have been in several alliances in a year eg Wilco.. HVE, then FS, then Mayhem, OE and now DDE.. curious if voting is limited to only banned from current alliance or all alliances you've been in in say the whole of 2012 (time frame for these votes)

The fact that DDE are vocal does not make them the sole opponents of this situation. Nor does it any good to falsely accuse them of rigging awards; that is absolutely ridiculous (as there was no rule against voting for your fellow members).

I have to say I am deeply disappointed by the continuous singling out of DDE as though they are the 'worst'. Really bloody likely.

This question is being discussed in the other thread, only then with Supersaiyan as the object of discussion. Same question though. :)

Code: Select all

8. You are not allowed to NOMINATE or VOTE for your alliance/empire (as a whole, in alliance-specific categories), nor are you allowed to nominate or vote for your fellow alliance/empire members.

You stand corrected :smt047

Well... That's just **Filtered** dumb.

Lols, it was never like that before (with voting)

Gotta keep some from winning eh!

Since we have nearly a week before voting starts, something like the ability to vote for an Alliance/Empire member can still be altered if the feedback is there and has reasonable support.

This all or nothing, hands in the air, I quit attitude bothers me. (that's not directed at any one person)

All of the Awards between 2009 and now have been evaporated due to SuperSaiyan's posts being vanquished from the forum. Most of the Mods on the team are new and haven't been involved in setting up the awards. Many of us have a lot on our plates due to RL. But we took time to consider everyone when making the initial rules, and the decision to revert the rules back to the old way. Both times, we have felt we did what was best for the community as a whole.

There is still time to alter how the Voting process is done, since that doesn't start for another 6-7 days. But the nomination restrictions will remain.

If you decide not to nominate another candidate, that is entirely up to you guys. If you would like to put forward ideas for the 2013 awards, my Inbox is always open. But throwing your hands up and walking away does this community no good whatsoever, and it won't help change anything for the better in the future.

That is to say, if you don't tell us how to make it better, we can't consider your ideas.

I think the kneejerk reaction to some people was unnecessary. I also feel that amending during the process was immature.

I understand why. I don't understand your implementation.

Good luck in getting an answer Scar. They won't accept your critic because mods are "always" right

10 pages written by a < a dozen people with what doesn't work, doesn't always pinpoint what will work. As proven by the first failed attempt.

Never have I seen a mod posting about these awards claiming everything we did was right. We make mistakes just like everyone else does.

Ok so now lets be honest, the rules got changed cause mostly DDE voted for their own members, and a couple of the other alliances also. But as I posted in the other thread:

Have you even look at what categories those votes were casted in?

Newcomer of the year: 3 players that by far exceed anyone in the progress they made this year as a whole.

Most skilled fighter of the year: 2 players that have been thru more wars than probably anyone and beat pretty much everyone.

Main player of the year: 2 players that have managed to stay in top ranks, fight wars on all fronts, put themself on the first line of the battle and helped anyone that needed their hand. Awesome fighters, farmers, raiders, players in general with the ability to recover and fight again the next day.

Diplomat of the year: 1 player that has been an icon for years as a warmoger, yet this year held a more diplo role and diploed the toughtest group of players there is ingame :D

Biggest comeback of the year: 2 players that have been missing thruout the server, either as friends or foes, but both very much respected not to mentioned the quality of them.

Alliance command of the year: 1 that has fought their way back to the top when the situation was a bit clustery and thru the year dominated in 2 major wars.

Yes this all are DDE players and DDE as an alliance, but they were posted for a reason, not cause I personally belong here.
