I did add more and was successful killing a few troops.
I would like it to say fail instead.

No problem, it's similar to sabbing on main.
And it can't really be called a failed mission, you managed to kill some, although the losses were greatly on your side. If you were caught before you could kill anything then i would consider it a failed mission.
