So I have noticed. Just arrived at the part where Luffy defeated one of those big panda pawed clones.

Ok, so i watched the first 45 or so episodes of this. At the end of every episode i forced myself to think "its going to get less liniar soon, its going to get a storyline, it will get better!"
And it didnt.
Does it?
Ever?
Will it stop following the same formular? Sail somewhere, Lufy's crew take out baddies crew. Lufy takes out captain after some strugle. Sail to somewhere else. Maybe aquire new crew member. Rince and repeat.
At lease Bleach and Naruto have some semblance of storyline. But 45ish episodes in and there does not seem to be any in One Piece. Seems to be just a repetiton of Short Arcs that consists of 1 or 2 eps of background then 5 episodes of boring and unimaginative fights.
How far do you need to watch before it becomes interesting?
Much love

It probably will never stop. Even Ernies Lobby fits that in some aspect.

meh
its not about the whole kicking the bad guys ass
its about his crew, his nakama, who he will risk everything for
its like that the whole way through, only thing that changes is the awsome powers etc
until the very latest eps, where it focuses on his brother, but still same kinda general lines of thought

old one got blasted away by warlord Kuma).

it gets interested when dragon (the greatest spy in the world) saves ruffy from smoker and ruffy doesnt even know... until now like in episode over 400 that his father d. dragon helped him... this is one of the great stories!
and then a great story is that ace is king roger's son... and that a navy commander thought ace and ruffy how to behave and fight (a little bit)
and that he saved them boath... etc etc i coudl go all day.. there
are a lot of good stories after.. you'll see
in the end its all to get on the grand line in begining, then they discover new stuff new kings and its really like they go and fight and thats it.. but now it really got a nice story with everything!

I'm watching the anime, and enjoying it. You ain't missing much, more then likely it's the same as the manga was.
