Well. Lets see, When you first found fire, we where roaming the galaxies.

You have not beaten the Goauld in canon, there are a few system lord left and anubis is not gone. - Job not done
2nd, the Orici is still alive - Job not done
3rd, Wraith, still around - job not done
4th, Asurans, still around - job not done
That is pretty poor. The Tauri had to have the asgard and ancients to help them. The Goauld had no one. They learned how to operate advanced equipment. Use naq as a source for only Goauld to use there thechnology.
So, I think thats 1 in the win column for Goaulds.
So lets see your proud that you supposed historic giants, who have been around lording it over each other for centuries, have been smacked around and given defeat after defeat by the hands of the tauri. As you said a relatively new power to the universe. A surprisingly adaptable race you'd have to say, considering now matter what new technology you Steal from some one else to try and destroy us, is countered and rendered next to useless.
Now lets see
Anubis - is taken out of the picture, by Oma, having engaged him he can't do a thing except fight her or else be destroyed. Yes not a tauri act, ancient surely, but it was still nudged in the right direction by us.
the Orici - may very well be alive, but with all of her followers pretty much having seen the true light of origin, she ain't nothing, and with Morgan, facing her in battle she can't do a thing. Again see Anubis.
Wraith, still around, sure, but they're feedin on each other, evil turns upon itself it seems. So for the most part they're not able to do over much. and besides if they did manage to reach this galaxy where the snakes and us are, you would seem to lose more then we would. Seeing as we know about them, tactics to defeat them. Where you snakes know nothing...
Asurans, - The highly dense Replicator mass sinks into the core of the planet, where the heat and pressure initiates fusion, resulting in an explosion that obliterates Asuras. At least one group of Asurans survive, apparently led by a nanite duplicate of Elizabeth Weir. Yes a group survived, but it is yet unknown where they stand. So threat contained for the time being.
So i guess its back to the snake heads, disorganized and mostly hiding from the free jaffa nation....
