Minimum posts for selling resources for $$

I remember ages ago when there was a rule where people selling planets had to have a minimum of 50 posts on the forum before they could sell otherwise their posts were removed.

i feel it would be extremely useful if there was such a rule for selling resources and accounts for $$ on the forum.

It would have to be a high number of posts as well because people can easily spam to get 50 posts.

I'd say people need to have a minimum of 200 posts before they can start selling resources or accounts on the forum.

What do people think?

Well honestly, I disagree.

Post counts mean nothing. 500 posts is about 1 week worth of work. Who wouldnt spend 1 week posting spam to gain 500+$$?

Some of the biggest long time scammers had multiple forum accounts, some with over 1000 posts.

Its not a good idea also because less then 1/2 maybe even less then 1/3 of the actual players of the game use forums.

The biggest thing is to know who your trading with, and if you don't know them then get references. If it is a truely legit player he will have people stand up for them.

Don't impulse trade, and above all Know who your dealing with.

I also suggested a way to utalize a 3rd person to 100% guarentee safe trades if Admin and the community will back the idea.

I am with Lore here. I dont think i even have 200 posts, yet I am a (relatively) long standing member here. I just simply dont spam. I would hate to have to start spamming just so that I can trade.

Personally i think they should have to be at least registered on the forums for at least 6-9 months before selling for $$$ and have a reasonable post count so that they are well known in the community, sure you will still get some people who will still turn sour and might try a scam, and you may get the odd real honest person who cannot sell because of it, but id rather have 1 honest person having to wait, than have 10 cheats selling at once.

Eh... minimum posts, as aforesaid, would create too much spam. It'd be crazy.

There are people who may be new and also may be honest. Some people that may be older and may be horribly dishonest.

It's all about feedback and reputation.

If you are doing a cash trade, you should be checking out references/feedback etc.

If the feedback has 4 comments from people with under 30 posts each who you have never heard of, then.. prolly not. Or they send the stuff first - be it money or goods. Honest people who don't have a lot of feedback would (I assume here) send goods first to people who have feedback and references.

If neither party has references.. that's a crapshoot for you.

I think it shows why it's important to build a good feedback thread and check them out first if you have little/no idea who the person is.

Side note: That 3rd party thing I really like. Makes it safer for everyone. Wish that stuff could be built into the system.

Its the black market for a reason, if you want to risk it with a seller you don't know, do some research on them.

them they will just spam actual threads, you can go in GC and cheer one side or the other for a few days and get your post count.

Nothing beats good old fashioned research and references.
