just realized the asgard arn't as powerful as the ancient but there tech is better there shields may wear down but our asgard hybrid shields took like 30 blasts from the Artucus or w/e weapon from trinity and that like the sattilite could rip a hiveship in half. So we are clearly underestimating the power of our gray buddies i mean if the deadalus can take hits like that without the zpm then what can a full asgard ship take it could probably blow a hive ship to hell.

the asgard are more advanced, they probably wern't when the ancients were around, but they have had a couple million years to make improvements

ancients had tech to beat replis, they invented stargates, had zpm's, etc

Also note that the hive ship/ships in orbit above the planet in the 'Trinity' episode weren’t just zipping past like the x304. They would have taken up orbit and sent out darts to attack the surface. When the generator overloaded and the cannon opened fire, the Hive ship probably, took a beating yes, but lasted a while. Another point is that the Wraith were the aggressors, and probably didn't care much for shields as they had the numbers. (Remember the Ancients won every battle) Lastly, yes the Asgard have had a while to perfect their technology and in that time they have taken up the position of protective mother, not angry desolator so most of their attention would have been focused on shield and defensive technology.

Even thor said that the ancient knowlege to him was like "a hay-stack of infinate size". And that the asgard have had the ancients repository of knowlage, but is so vast that they cant search it all!

The anceints tech was far superior to the asgards; the ancients just didnt have the capacity for wide-spread production like they use to.

The ancients has inter-galactic drive more than 30 Millon years ago. The asgard had to use stasis pods 30 Thousand years ago for space travel.

Plus Thor said they had found an ancient library of info and have been studying it ever since so for all we know all asgard tech could be based on or ripped off Ancient Tech.

for gods sake the Ancients could destroy an entire galaxy.

the deadalus took about 30 blast from teh weapon while it was sitting infront of the gate to let the pj escape now if that weapon could punch hole in a hive ship with 2 or 3 blasts then isn't that a testament to asgard tech right there

Ancients were able to hold off a fight for years with the shields on Atlantis, Asgard's shields on the Daedalus only lasted for minutes. ZPM owns Naquada.

The ancients were better, but I don't believe the asgard ripped of their tech. The reason the "four great races" were called that was because the were, and still are, more advanced and older than any other race that exists. The asgard have very good ships, the Nox can become invisible and heal themselves, the ancients had invented the stargates and ascended, and the furlings must have done something big too. They basically are four most advanced and brilliant races ever to exist. (For now at least.)

they will be for a while and when we get to that level we will be the ancients since that is our evolutionary track. Even the wraith are infirior to us they have no shields and they base there tech of the fact that they one a war not on there survival.

Ancients were far superior and still are....purely because of the replicators....they had technology that could destory them million of years before they were a problem.

And flying cities into other galaxies....well, the Asgard cant do that.

wraith do have shields, nukes cant penetrate them while they use them, its just that thier cannons are so coooool and powerful, that theuy pump alll thier juice into tthem and they probly operate between 75 and 125 percent of the standard poewr they require for each cannon normly, i mean, that lady on the hologram said they had "terrible weapons" which means, those cannons must hurt even atlantis and drain power perhaps draining a full zpm in a couple months, so they probly had 3 on and rotated them one at a time obvously with one eventually finally drained completely a couple weeks before the otherrs in a continuous circle.

as for the super weapon they had on that planet with that crazy in-our-own univers zpg mckay had it only set to like 7 or 15 percent when testin it when somehting went wrong, which is probly why it went critical, probly not designed to throttle at low like that. so i dont know whether it was drawing at full power finally went critical or not, i dont think it was though, probly still on low, cours deadelus probly doesnt use naquadah for its power most of the time, one of the generalters or perhaps several for extreme generation are those crazy naqudRIah things that f302 hyperspace windows utilize...

imagine puttin a cannon on a f302... and then replacing the normal generater, with a zpm or two....

imagine every f302 useing space cannons and equiped with a fully functinoal shield and zpm along with hyperspace... WoO
