i ask you this, in the old west there was lawlessness everywhere but i don't remember reading those people giving up their liberty...think about that.

btw thriller, this has nothing to do with my ego or how i see myself, and frankly i don't care what people think about me, i will continue speaking out against wrongs and injustice.

I didn't mean anything bad by my remark. Your enthusiasm and passion to fight injustice are admirable qualities. I just think your energy might be better served on other issues.

Re: Arkansas town on lockdown"Martial Law"

i know mate...

ideally what i want is to start up a local action group to start educating people and fighting the injustice of the NWO, but i don't know where to start since the british and israelis are smarter (by design) at covering things up than america...

notice how america always seems to get the flack while the british and israeli governments cower in the shadows and avoid the limelight.

how ironic that the american people and founding fathers in their bid to get away from british corruption and colonial taxation (taxing the colonies to extinction so britain can wage war with the whole world), fight a war of independence only to end up in the control of the very people they were fighting, the bankers and the british monarchy :?

Re: Arkansas town on lockdown"Martial Law"

the "freedom and liberty" we have in the west at the moment is the elites idea of what freedom and liberty should be and its not the freedom and liberty we were taught we have.

so they can keep their freedom and liberty as well as their martial law, and they can shove it where the sun don't shine!

I doubt that somehow, but when I was saying what I did I was referring to the western world. IE europe, america, russia...etc etc..

As for Russia, I wouldn't know. Europe? Horrible place, I wouldn't want to live there. Visit maybe, live no way in hell. America is bad, just the least bad, fortunately for me. =P

lol..least bad? thats rich...americans are terrible. The biggest bunch of gun wielding sheep there are...nothing in america can compete with anything in europe..from the right historical culture..to the military might and average intellect.

but why are we doing this dance again Jack? lol...your opinion will never see my truth, and visa versa. I think an agreement to dissagree is the best course.

The only reason I would consider moving to Europe would be the relaxed social dress code. Nothing else is appealing, though I wouldn't mind a trip to visit. Hopefully I can get on a school trip to England/Ireland this year. Now on to business...

First, I'd like to congratulate Avenger. He has earned the Phoenix Award for Perseverance for his efforts in conspiracies/pursuit of justice, depending on what side of the line you stand on. On a side note, this is only partly sarcastic. While I often think he's jumping at shadows (and still do, but I'll get to that later), he does bring many points and some of them strike me as valid. Please though, don't declare me partly saved with that admission like last time.

Secondly, this isn't martial law. There is no military force used, there is no military law used. The only thing "akin" (to use the mayor's wording) to martial law is the fact that people are harrassed late at night, and they might end up in jail for the night if there excuse is weak (there's a key word in there, just so you know). Solution if you're going somewhere and innocent? Tell the cop the truth and ask them to escort you to your destination. Most cops are people, not robots programmed to obey orders to the letter. Otherwise, half the kids at my school would have lost their licenses (I've heard so many stories of kids getting caught doing 15+ over the limit and having it written down as 5-10 over, so the punishment is less).

Also, for the genius who basically implied that the cops know where the criminals are and refuse to get them so this "plot" can go on, you're really stretching it. First, they need to have enough proof about the suspect to get a warrant for the arrest, and that proof can't be gathered illegally (aka, breaking into the house is out of the question, unless they have enough evidence for a search warrant). Then, after the arrest the guy/gal, they can only hold him for 48 hours before they have to let him out again, unless they can file charges. Plus, there's the indiction, trial, and if they screw up, they have to start from scratch. It's not a simple process, and when you have a town of around 8,689 which probably doesn't have the largest police force (no numbers on their site), how do you expect them to process every criminal that does something? Hell, Harrisburg is just getting around to sentencing guys who did crimes five years ago!

What I'm saying is that you all seem to jump to the conclusion that because people can no longer parade around the streets after 8/10/whenever the curfew starts, someone is obviously trying to deliberately soften people up for a bigger infringement(maybe not Jack and cloak). And my response is that this is a desperate gambit by a mayor who is trying to prevent his constituents from waking up with a bullet between their eyes and is trying to do his job to the best of his ability, considering the restrictions placed on him. Could it have been done differently and better? Perhaps. But unless this guy is an ex-cop/security expert/public official dealing with public safety, he's not going to know a thing about this type of stuff before entering the mayor's office. That's the beauty and fallacy of democracy, you get new faces who unfortunately stand a good chance of being clueless about what their job entails.

So, to wrap it up, get a grip guys. Your prized individual liberties are not really disappearing, and those people in Arkansas will probably get those few that are gone back in a few months when either crime goes down or the police department's bill is too high to keep paying. Similar things have occured in the past, such as the internment of Japanese/Italians/Germans in WWII, race riots (where actual NG units were often used; such as LA and Detriot), and the occupation of the South after the Civil War. And you know what? It all eventually went back to the status quo. Yes, people even got tired of the Red Scare and sent McCarthy packing. The common people are not that dumb, just slower due to the inertia effect of getting so many people moving, so give them some [Self-Filtered] credit that they can think on their own.

Seriously, my alien cabal is waiting until you all die before they make their move for world domination. You lot are way to jumpy.

Edit: Consistency changed to Perseverance.

I was, and probably cloak too, just pointing out the fallacies that always pops up in these types of debates. "There's no good reason to be outside after X o'clock". Which is completely wrong, there are many good excuses for it, people just need to open their minds and think. :smt045

My examples were mostly things I do regularly. I don't like being around people, especially the crazies here in Bastrop, so I like to go walking late at night when it's nice and cool(read: NOT 120F), and there's really no one around by myself. It's the best time to go out and clear your head, cause it's so quiet and peaceful. Do I want a cop following me around the whole time? Of course not, I went after dark specifically to be alone.

I can understand that point. I know for three years, I went crazy living in quarters, as there were three duplexes in the space of a half a soccer (football ) field. And that doesn't bring in the dozens of others packed in. :?

Also, I have no real counter to that, as one of the people interviewed does talk about police questioning people on their own property, so there is a chance that a person sitting on their porch may bring a question. He may be exaggerating, but he may not.

Point conceded.

Yup Jacks right, all I was saying was that, hell you could catch me walking around outside at 2 - 4 am because thats what time I get home when I go out normally i take a stroll around the block, sober up a little if ive been drinking maybe catch a lye down on the grass. Or if I run outta smokes at 12 o clock im pretty much gonna end up making my way to the shop/garage to go buy some and I dont want a cop pouncing outta a shrub/tree/hedge on me asking me what the hell im doing outside! but meh, you conceded :-D

Re: Arkansas town on lockdown"Martial Law"

sadly thats not whats taught in schools nowa days, and thats what the american public get drummed into them by every news channel, paper, and official...

if i lived in a republic and someone tried to tell me i lived in a democracy i would not be happy because my ancestors died in order to get away from the tyranny that was king george's "democracy".

the problem most people have is they cant understand what democracy is because they are taught from birth that freedom means democracy, it does not mean democracy, it means that 51% of the people hold sway over the other 49%.
its one thing to have a democratically elected official and another to be governed by a democratic state.
