In the green woods of Silver Falls, Oregon, Aaron Hallam, a trained assassin AWOL from the Special Forces, keeps his own brand of wildlife vigil. After Hallam brutally slew four deer hunters in the area, FBI Special Agent Abby Durrell turns to L.T. Bonham-- the one man who may be able to stop him. At first L.T. resists the mission. Snug in retirement, he's closed off to his past, the years he spent in the Special Forces training soldiers to become skilled murderers. But when he realizes that these recent slaying is the work of a man he trained, he feels obligated to stop him. Accepting the assignment under the condition that he works alone, L.T. enters the woods, unarmed--plagued by memories of his best student and riddled with guilt for not responding to Aaron's tortured letters to him as he began to slip over the edge of sanity. Furious as he is with his former mentor for ignoring his pleas for help, Aaron knows that he and L.T. share a tragic bond that is unbreakable. And, even as they go into their final combat against each other, neither can say with certainty who is the hunted and who is the hunter.
Has anyone ever watched this? I love Tommy Lee Jones, and I really really enjoyed this movie a long time ago so I just rewatched it and I can say without a doubt - amazing movie.
Definitely worth a watch.

Re: The Hunted (2003)
Excellent Movie, got my highest accolade, I bought it instead of copying it
Everyone knows Tommy Lee Jones rocks, but this is a step away from his usual roles, a bit darker. He trains the SpecOpps guys in survival, evasion, camoflage, close quarter combat etc but has never killed anyone himself, and has to face what he created and see the consequences for the first time. No glamor or glory, none of that CGI wizzing bullets stuff, just great acting, hands on action and an original storyline ( very rare ).
Mezz Recommends you watch this

Re: The Hunted (2003)
I watched it when it first came out and I really couldn't get into it. The reason for this is that it was filmed in my city/state (Portland, Oregon) that I know far too well. Chases that start in one place (say the NE part of the city) then they turn a corner and all of a sudden it's an entirely different part (SW side). Jumping into the river and ending up 30 miles upstream...
Too much distraction for me to really get into it.
But yeah...I guess you've all seen where I used to live, now.
