Well, I must admit, this is one of the best series I have ever seen.

It is in the 300 type of mould, blood and guts, backstabbing, with soft porn thrown in. Who could argue with that as a winner!

Although, in my history class many many years ago, the talk about Romans did not seem to cover those topices and I am sure, the Romans did not use some of those words eben if translated from roman into english .

Maybe some of the Legion ladies and gentlmen could add there thoughts

What makes me laugh most of the time is the cleanliness and good teeth of the Roman empire and even the slaves. The Romans used urine to wash their teeth and didn't really clean themselves.

There was too much porn for my taste, but it was a good series anyway... except the porn... it could have been good without having the 2-3 erotic scenes in each episode.

I disliked the amount of erotic scenes in the show, but that's what made it what it is.

so its a remake of Rome,,..?

I hated Rome after the first few episodes, and never watched it again.

Spartacus Blood and Sand however.. I loved to death.

I have read the main guy won't be comming back..

Just finished series 1

I have to admit I almost gave up on the show after the fist few episodes, good fight scenes but not much else, then it got more interesting with various plots and I had to see it through to a very good ending, and now I want more

BUT

Not as good as Rome IMO, Rome had more variety, more realism, better characters, acting, script, plots, just better all round. Id say Spartacus is a dumbed down version of Rome, more action, blood and titties, less thought and class.

This series was actually filmed down the road from me.

I was to audition for the prequel, but didnt get my body back in shape unfortunately.

Loved the series though, really well done, and a great NZ production!

It's not as good as Rome cause it's not hbo.. Why can't they just bring Rome bak

Anyway, saw somewhere they were recasting the lead for season 2.

The prequel to Blood and Sand starts next week... Spartacus : Gods of the Arena. No Andy Whitfield or Spartacus, but should be interesting nonetheless.

I can't wait for the new prequel to start....i saw a photo of the guy who played Spartacus on a website...He is not comming back for season 2...you can tell just by looking at him..I am more Spartacus then he is now and i am only 58kg and not been near a gym in 17 years...hopefully he will get better as he was with is wife and kid in the photo...
