Officers and Plague

I think the above is a good idea, even with all the other changes.

Plague is meant to be something that is there to keep the game even to avoid having unlimited growth in the top accounts. This would also help it.

yep why do u need to grow if u arrived at cap. be smart and sell units

having people that have 600-700mil accounts is just silly when we are trying to get more people to join this dying game....they wont want to put the effort in when it takes ages to get to that level of 500-700mil army size.

this gets the Odie backing :D

not all officer/co relationships are uu/naq based .. its more a friendship thing why should ppl have to give that up?

I'm skeptical about it, I think a better way to have avoided plague to be beaten would have been not to introduce this "legs cutting" update towards mercenaries making them become a half of a troop in the armies. :neutral: *sigh*
Also, this could be easily avoided, the person just needs to get ten officers before reaching plague (or sell the legs cut mercenaries to go below plague) and even if there was to be such update, as you see, it would be easily avoided.

Or just don't grow that big. Like Lith said, sell just before the plague kicks in.

Mixed feelings on this, not everyone has officers for UP, I never took on an officer just for UP bonus, I took them on to train and help them not help myself.

If this is such an issue, how about an alternative officer bonus over a certain size, AT generation instead of UP for example.

IMO armysize is only an issue because it is the only limit on stat size, if the linked def/strike idea was used all defs would be massable and army size would not be a problem.

Like ascended CER...The bigger you get the smaller your UP. And the bigger you get the bigger the plague.

it's good to have a friend to keep an eye on you,

and alliances are not for everyone... nor do their logs show nearly as much info...

though I wish they could...

I also wish that commanders could choose to share the same information with the officers...

as the "officer" is often the one playing the role of big brother / big sister.

Well you can remove the bonus or you can remove the officers. Either works. Removing the bonus would work equally if people still want the relationship there.

aslo very mixed feelings.
its a great concept for those so large you can stand on your 2 feet.

and it helps the plague limits.

If the plague was really meant to slow down growth and help newer, smaller players catch up then it was a bad idea from the start. Plague should never have been introduced. When an account gets to 500m it should stop growing period. UP should become useless unless the accounts drops below 500m.

Stopping accounts growing above 500m would assist alot more in narrowing the gap between well established accounts and smaller, newer accounts.

No-one in this game needs 500m+ AS. Absolutely no need for it. Just remove plague and halt growth at 500m.
