Bank Leak

So, was commented on that it would be interesting if you could raid the enemy's bank. So, here' my suggestion for the idea.

If a player doesn't have any form of realm defence for over 12 hours, any Naq stored in their bank starts leaking out at 1% of maximum capacity/turn. Essentially, after 2.5 days with no defence, ALL your naq reserves are gone ;)

Thoughts? Opinions?

MAX capacity. So if you have a capacity of 1m, then you loose 10k/turn, regardless of whatever you have. As opposed to loosing 10k, then 9.9k, then 9.8k.

For the reason you pointed out. Eventually it become negligible opposed to their income.

And if people are happy with it, it will encourage building of a defence. Like I said, they've got 2.5 days before all their saved naq is gone, and 24 hours before they only have 75% left.

Of course, if people don't like the idea that's fine. Just tossing it out there to get people's opinions.

it pusnishes people with large banks that have a small amount in them.

and its alll too quick for my liking

how long does defence awarness take to wear off? perhaps it could be based on that somehow?

I would say extend the 12 hours to something like 18 hours.

Although I don't play any of these games there are days where I leave my house to go to work at 6:40am and get home at 8pm. That's over 13 hours and i'm not even doing shift work.

So, perhaps you loose 5% of what's in your bank, down to 1% of your max capacity as a minimum? Less of a major impact, especially if you are only at like 20% or less capacity.

Thing with that is, if people farm their actual income, it will always be over 0 alert.

I've got no problem with extending it to 18 hours. Just started with 12.

how about, instead of it all happening full auto, its optionally a 'covert like attack' when the chance arises ?

Like, you recon someone, 0 defense, and the recon shows an indication for a possible breaching into the enemies bank. (grace period passed)

Then with certain covert attack 'raid resources', perhaps, you could perhaps steal a percentage from the bank per hit. This ofc also with some risks of failing the attack(s).
You could add like the whole phasing idea to. Like, you can not hit like more then 5 times in a row and each consecutive turn 1 hit becomes optional again. (after 5 turns without hitting you could hit 5 times again, or simply hit once each turn)

Because, something in me says the idea with it happening full auto will not fall well with people who are afraid to loose resources.

Not a bad idea Duck, except that the covert units already have 3 missions they can undertake (on this server) being spying, assassination (of enemy spies), and sabotage.

If anything, I could make it a new attack type hit, though I'd rather have it leaking itself. How long can you protect/hide your cache without having any defense to distract enemies :razz:

no way, sorry but thats very unfair on people saving up for the higher covert levels, you might have over 1Q in your bank, the rate it will leak out is astronomical!

There would be people waiting til they knew it was a players night time, massing them just to have the 8 hrs or so of leakage

If this is to be considered then it would have to have something like a graduated leak, starting at o.01% and building to the 1% over 24 hrs, that way inactive accounts will leak their bank but active players have some grace to allow for their real life commitments. In fact I'd make the leak much slower, so that the inactive accounts don't empty in just a few days.

Indeed. Infact, having 1m in the bank is not likely either 8)

I never started with something so small as 8 hours, as I know most people don't check the turn before bed, and check the turn they get up. Also, it is X hours till the leaking starts, it doesn't start when you hit 0 defence. Though I'd most likely go for something like 16 hours of no defence. Once/If I implement PPT, the people that say go onto shift work can simply PPT for it anyway.
