Frankly, even though I haven't finished it, it's become a fairly big name in the fan community. Big enough that even after ignoring it, I still come across it every now and then. So, anyone who keeps up with manga or anime on almost any community should have heard of it at least once.
I mean, jeez, I'm even running into it on SGW of all places.

mmm, probably, at its current rate, 25 episodes would take it to approaching where the manga is, gives them a year to widen the gap i suppose
