Run down on the details:
- yes, it will be a 1 vs 1.
- your prize is based on the tier you finished at.
- two battles per 1 v 1, with a third if needed to declare the winner.
- Battles are 24 +- 12 hours apart, i.e the next battle with your opponent will start 12 hours different to the one before (gives a bit more fairness), at the minimum there is a 24 hr break.
- Game is stopped when someone reaches the maximum tier.
- opponents found randomly every game/set.
- After you kill your opponent, you're both temp booted from the arena, after one TC you will pop back in (i.e you can farm very briefly and change some stuff if needed).

How things fall together:
say... 10 people play, so there will be 5 x 1v1, the losers of each 1v1 are tier 1, winners go to tier 2. This is called the first set.
So there are now 5 tier 1 and 5 tier 2, the tier ones battle against each other, and tier 2s will battle against each other so 3 x 1v1 tier 1's and 3 x 1v1 tiers 2's - Note, some winner of the tier will be fighting again to account for the extra unpaired. This is called the second set.

As you would expect the winners of tier 2 go to tier 3, losers stay at tier 2.

Winners of tier 1 now go to tier 1.5, losers stay at tier 1.

Effectively, if a new tier hasn't been created, and you win, you go up a tier, but if there is another tier above you, and you do win your new tier is (cur+next)/2. Else you just stay at your current tier. So if there were many many people participating, tiers between 1 and 2 would look like: 1.5, 1.75, 1.875, 1.9375....

So...5 tier 2's battle, then the 2 tier 3's battle, then the maximum (tier 4 in this case) is found, game is stopped, rewards dealt out based on ending tier.

I remember a bunch of late night crying musing about the advantage of physical levels/cs, and how everyone starting from a 'default' account setup, with the same CS, physicals, CER, would be a test of the skill of the player, rather than the amount he's farmed/brought..

I've heard of the default account idea before, considering it for a permutation of DM, the only real problem is it probably wouldn't boil down to skill, it would just heavily rely on who got the first hit and who had the most time (but on the circumstance where both parties are online, it then becomes something more of a skill).

Otherwise no , for this match it will be your typical DM sort of account, with full turns and weps and (I just thought of this two seconds ago and you should all take note so imma go ahead and bold this) Your CS will be stocked to the smaller of the CS's (either you or your opponent) e.g. you have 5 mill atk slots and 5 mill def, your opponent has 10 mill atk slots and 1 mill def, so BOTH of your cs's will have 5 mill atk and 1 mill def.
