it is not a way of spelling wizard...i have seen it spelled two diff ways "vizard" & "visored". maybe it refers to the fact that they have masks that can be called "visors"?

ive never seen them spell their race as visored....and thinking about the visor side to the mask is a little beyond my capabilities
