I may not be Ori, but only because I was following someone else, but I do follow the path of Origin.
The way I see it, it's the Ori and the Alterren. The Alterren don't even tell those they ascend and make their men anything. They lie to their own people, what makes you think they wont lie to us? The Ori, on the other hand, have not given us reason not to trust them. They are doing what they have to to survive. The people that don't follow Origin give the Alterrens power and if they get enough, the Alterrens will attack and destroy the Ori. The Ori cannot allow this so they kill or convert those that give the Alterrens their power. The Alterrens don't even help those that they created, and we follow and listen to them. The Ori ascend and help their followers and even sent the Orisi to guide them through the darkness that they were sent through.

also a point, the ori say they cast out the evil spirits... this implies that a battle happened and they won, the Ancients said they left before there was a war.... conclusion

if there was a war and the ori started it, wont the ancients say so and try and get the sympathy vote?
however if the ancients started the war, it would explain y they wont want to mention it and y the ori do

So we are all in the city of Gods, we all saw a great powers of blessed fire but still there all a lot of non-belivers, who rejected Origin.
