These are General Guidelines that are more like traditions/rules that have been passed down from generation to generation... through the pasage of time:
[Follow THEM!]

* Do not post in a thread if you see the last person posted over 1 month ago
* Do not make a new thread unless there is no current one, and there is sufficient reason to make one
* If you wish to spam/increase your post count, there is a spam temple that you may use viewforum.php?f=85 << SPAM TEMPLE... USE IT!
* Follow all forum guidelines
* No direct personal Insults
* Don't insult the Asgards/Acients... as this is the A/A forums
* Other races may join in peaceful talks.
* Do not post if you are just going to reiterate what the person in front of you says
* Do not double post <_< ... too often
* If you have nothing to say, then don't post or post in the spam temple
* Try to post more than a few words...

This is it for now, if I think of more, I'll edit...

:? wow... can people actually follow rules in the rules thread? :?

Okay, how's this, everyone put their ingame ids in there thread, and if you don't follow the rules... somebody will mass you...

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

The asgard/Ancient forums is where A/A can get to know and bond with each other/ disscuss events. Not where you can post random 1 line sentences that has only vague relavance to the topic

I have noticed certain people's participation int he spam temple and feel very happy that you have taken the opportunity to spam there. Thank you.

Hi Starry :)

Listen to Starry or you will have me and some of my friends knocking on the door to your Command Center.

A good rule of thumb when posting is to make sure your post is longer than your signature, that means that you actually have to think about what your posting before you do and it SHOULD move the thread along with some good, non-spammy posting.

i would assist in this manner, (i like to pwn n00bs) however at this time i cant do such things... starry, you know why... regardless, just pay attention to the flow of conversation, this stands for anywhere really... if two people are discussing a game or something on the street, you dont just run up to them and start screaming 'i can own you n00bs i has a sparta!' or something of the like... at least have the decency to contribute something worthwhile.

and to those who have been using the spam forums for their randomness, thankyou. we dont really need to do such things elsewhere... :-D

Actually, I am slightly surprised by this one. On most of the forums I am/have been a member of, members are freely allowed to 'revive old threads' if they have something new and constructive to add. This always made sense to me, as it not only keeps the total number of threads down but it keeps information on one specific topic in one (or at least not as many) location(s). I have also been on one forum that strictly (punishable by suspension or ban) forbid re-opening old threads or making new ones if there had ever been one on that topic before. That was part of the reason I quit that forum. But out of curiosity about this forum/board, what's the reasoning behind discouraging members from re-opening old threads?

Absolutely nothing.

It's just hard to explain what kind of threads should stay dead, and what shouldn't.

Let's say it's a thread about raiding techniques, and then somehow, a update was brought up. But the thread is a year old. I'm fine with it being revived and new ideas discussed..

It's the thread that talking about, "what UP do you have?" And you either just post a UP without any other comments, something completely random like "I like pizza" or other stuff that makes it illogical, making it an obvious ploy for post counts etc.

if you don't follow the rules.
Then you will get 3 warnings followed by suspension and banning.
