Re: Eros - Removed as Ombudsman
Pathetic.
What's it feel like? Took the wrong route
Watch it fall apart now you're knockin' at the wrong gate
For you to pay the toll, a price for you alone
The only deal you'll find, I'll gladly take your soul

Eleven's hour is over now, the clock is striking Twelve.

Re: Eros - Removed as Ombudsman
Note I didn't call Spacey out on it right away because I wanted to make a good first impression on the other mods and talk to Spacey on MSN.
Things failed, I called him out on calling me a Woman, I got fired. Woot! Nice Job MODS!

There was nothing to call him out on, I've read the entire thread you posted and the entire mod thread, and I have to say it was quite clear what he was saying in the mod thread...I personally have no attachment to Spacey, but I'm going to call it like I see it.

And ill state this now. I hope this position gets filled and stays filled. Not a revolving door.

Re: Eros - Removed as Ombudsman
Now I don't mind about the whole Woman Issue. He took offense/He didn't take offense, It was PC/It was an underhanded comment. Personal Grudges/reading things that aren't there.
The thing that gets me is that the Administration removes a publically voted Ombudsman WITHOUT any sort of Public consent or approval.
It is a position *For* the public, not a position *for* the mods. The Public chose Eros to represent them so if the public feels that he no longer represents their best interests, then it should be up to them to remove him, not at the whim of offended mods.
As for replacement Ombudsman, do the other places truely represent who the people want? If Eros wasn't a choice, would they still vote for whoever is going to replace him. I'm only saying this part because the poll was so one sided, getting a replacement Ombudsmen that was so far behind is not turely representative of the community as a whole.
If you want a new one, let the people revote.

Re: Eros - Removed as Ombudsman
Balor I think Jack will make a fine ombudsman.
Maybe he'll only get the spam temple remodelled with stainless steel appliances, but I think it's a good idea to let him in.

The explination was only an excuse.
It's like me calling Spacey a *SELF MODDED* and then 2 hours later saying I didn't mean that.
If the explination was in the same post, things would have been different.

You know how confused I get on forums outside of the GC and how much i just love clicking on poll options. Someone needs to invent a poll on polls methinks.
@Mystake: I'm not saying Jack is a bad choice at all, I don't venture far from the GC and so not well aquainted with the vast majority of the community. I'm just saying when you have someone who had 5 times+ more votes then everyone else put together getting kicked out, thats a lot of votes to redistribute which could significantly change the voting tally.
All those voters now have their vote nullified and the majority of the community are now no longer apart of the ombudsman poll. Is it truely representitive then? If it were a more even poll, I wouldn't be fussed but you have to admit the lack of balance.

Re: Eros - Removed as Ombudsman
At first, everyone thought your thread was a joke, and voted yes. {including me} When Spacey wrote a rule, with "ombudsman/woman" like "postman/woman" etc. he assumed everyone had a comprehensible understanding of the English language. Perhaps Spacey erred on that.
But then going onto flame the mod and make a public debatable about it is pathetic. The community clearly did not support the view that you were taking.
Furthermore, I don't see why being associated with the opposite gender is so offensive?
Lastly, Congratulations to Jack! Hope you can last longer than 24 hours!
Balor:
Eros's votes were mainly from ONE alliance that voted en mass. Some of the forum accounts are practically inactive. So you can't really say the voice of the community was nulled.
