1. Because it's the internet.

3. Because the original focus on Stargate allowed for gods.
4. For the same reasons why every WoW player fancies themselves the Lich King.

Gods are extensions of your own existence. What you believe is reality. If you believe you are a God then surley you must be. But others do not see you as a God. Who's version of reality is real?
