The title for the thread and its contents is very apt. However the value of forums to me personally is not a financial one and if you read rule 10, you can see the practical reasoning behind its implementation.

You can sell elsewhere, on msn, other forums etc, but due to the high scam rate and the extra strain it puts on Forum here, its just easier not having to deal with them at all.

Then again, I value the forums for the friendships and meeting like minded people then for selling insubstantial goods in a game for real money.
