Personal Trading Bans / Trade Management *TAG*

I believe this is the right spot for this post..

I recently have acquired a list of ID's i wish to put on a "banned list" rather than have it on a word doc on my computer is it all possible to add a feature to the game where you can enter certain ID's so that down the track if I forgot or lost the word document the game would automaticly give me a warning message along the lines of "you have previously banned trading with this user because, blah blah blah"

possibly
banned ID
Reason (bad conduct, bad trader, foe or whatever)
Length 0 = infinite 1 = 1 day etc

I hope this make sense.

Just add a section for bad trades to your personal log, no need to keep seperate documents. Would only take a couple of seconds to check your log before trading :)

I was going to say just use the personal logs too, but thinking further if there was a block/report trader function it could be used to flag scammers to admin.

the pm system used to have a message along lines of if too many people block you, you get reported for misuse of it (can't remember too long ago now)

maybe a block function, for pms and or trades.

Femme is correct. Block/Blacklist exists for PM, as well as the 'Too many messages'. Nice call on the combination with reporting users; extending automated flagging from messages to trades would prevent spamming the administration with bogus reports.
(Though you - as a player - can't see who is on your blacklist, unless you follow Clockwork's suggestion and use your personal logs.)

As for blocking trades, I suppose I can see the merit. I am a firm believer in keeping track of your own affairs though, so go ahead, please convince people why this is useful as opposed to you keeping your own records? :)

The problem with records is that they get lost going through a list of potentially 50+ ids you dont wish to trade with could be quite time consuming. I just thought it would be a cool new feature to add to the games trading function. even adding a trade ID "hot list" or something which rather than having to go through records and cross check to make sure your not trading with an account you may have banned for whatever reason it comes up as an account you have previously flagged as you dont with to trade with this person.

on the flip side you could also add a friendly list to this of people you trade with often.

Haven't had the pleasure of a trade with harch I'm afraid.

I have been trading alot of turns. Usually in the open market place. 50,000 + at a time. Usually I purchase them with the intention of farming and never get around To it purely to my poor time management skills (shift worker life)

So in my case if I choose not to deal with an entire alliance because of their actions or something somebody has said which I find offensive or rude and consider it to be a life ban then regardless of them leaving that alliance, changing names or whatever I would have that ID banned forever.

The flip side is a favourites list is purely something to save time. I could add people I trade with regularly. Rather than finding their accounts, cutting and pasting id from the address bar.

It would also make smart phone use easier.

No one bans 50+ people and those who don't want to trade with others never do. Simple thing really is just to just keep track of your own enemies/records.

Just don't feel like an update like this would actually be worthwhile developing for the current base of players maybe if 1000's played then yes but not a couple of hundred.

You make a fair point but an update to make it easier would be nice, even a search feature to find players ids by using a user name or something.

so assuming I've read this correctly, whats to stop someone putting a players name/id into said database due to the fact they don't like them?
Lets assume you can only add after things in after providing proof that you have had a trade with them & said person provides false information to get back at someone for massing them or whatever the case may be.
How would you police that?

As others have said, the easiest way is to keep a list in your personal log.
If you want to make others aware of these "bad traders" then post a thread in the appropriate section within the market place.

As bels said, I think for the current player base this would be a waste of time.
Many other things that need improving before things like this.

i meant more a personal database, just to speed up the process and make things easier. rather than opening the account, copying ID, opening trade broker and then going through the process.

surely we can add a player search function at least to the private trade broker + a recent trades list/friends list
