A problematic name change thread

I have just acquired a name change via the market on my new account. Having gone to change my name however (back to Diamond Dust) the game says - "User with such name already exists, in some higher plane."

I presume it means there is a Diamond Dust in ascended, but it certainly isn't me. I did a check in main but nothing at all.

Unless you get that current owner of that account to change the ascended name, admin won't do anything about it (as far as I know he wouldn't change the name for the purpose of letting another use that name).

If you didn't know already their main id is 87444 with the current name being 'for the royalty'

As Sol said you'll need to speak to the owner of the account and ask if they can change it to something different.

The only time I think admin has done something like that is if the account has been inactive for several years.

You know something, 87444 rings a bell. It's an old old account that I used to own. I presume this is my problem. Could you tell me if it is still active please Sol? Thank you for your help also.

He is 'active', meaning he isnt banned, vac'ed etc, and i'll only say that he hasn't logged in for awhile, if Clarkey has said that admin has changed an accounts name knowing it wasn't logged in for a few years, then you have a chance with this one.

I guess the first avenue would be to PM 87444 and request they change their name in Ascended?

Excuse the double post. I have settled with the name General Riviera. The romance with an old ID got to my head a little, not to mention that the likelyhood is that the other chap probably won't fix the ID on the ascended account of 87444 anyway, but oh well.
