Hmm I actually read it a slightly different way which was a bit different from what you wrote Mezzanine - I read it to be that you could take them but could only take one at a time.

Shrug, either way works I suppose but allainces in peace time tend to just save them up and stack them up.

Might not have been very clear, what I meant was 1 use per day, but that use could be for multiple hours.

This would not effect a peaceful alliance from PPTing for 12 hours if they want, but it will stop a so called war alliances from PPTing everytime attacked.



As for the separate proposal hat was been made here for stackable market PPTs, that idea has been posted before, I know Easy^ suggested being able to use 2x 48 hour PPTs at once for people who a are a away for a few days over a year ago, and pretty sure others have suggested similar things in the past too. IMO it would be a good idea.

Every alliance can ppt exactly 12 times. Means you just have to attack them a 13th time :lol:

Changing the game mechanics cause it does not suit your online schedule is not a valid argument imo.

As the alliance ppts are limited it does not prevent you to mass someone who is offline as they still have 2 1/2 days off protection. I would expect any war alliance to be able to achieve that.

I can understand that it might be annoying that someone is on ppt while you geared up to mass them, so lets get rid of ppts all together :)

All I have to say on this subject is "12" hours of PPT ends up being a lot more. If an alliance uses a PPT 1 minute in to the turn the timer will run out an hour later. But like all other PPT's the timer will go in to the negative and not drop protection until the next turn change. This turns a "1" hour PPT in to an up to "1-1/2" hours PPT and thus giving the potential of nearly 18 hours of protection from the alliance PPT's per week alone.

One more thing I will toss out there. Add two more days of PPT for players still ascending. Now have fun attempting to make an argument against that...the possibility of only 6 whole hours that player would be touchable during that week.

Well, not everyone is ascending :)

Fact is - alliance ppt is a valuable instrument that allows for more strategy and makes defenses harder to mass and thus more desirable to build.

The desire to have it removed stems only from the annoyance it brings when a planned massing is countered with an alliance ppt. Nothing more and nothing less.


On a different note: Why not remove ALL ppt's?

Meh, IMO alliance PPT's are limited. You can only use 12 a week. Seems pretty fair to me.

Normal PPTs have always been intended for RL breaks, no normal person spends their entire life playing a game, I see your on PPT right now Deni, and I hope your enjoying your break with RL family and activities as we all should.

Alliance PPTs are used exclusively by high active players to protect the stats of lower activity players. Before if you saw a massing on an alliance member you had to jump in and mass the masser to stop them, now all you have to do is press a button. I agree stats had to be made more attractive to build but there were several suggestions on how to achieve that and this was the wrong one IMO

I dont agree with that statement, I use the tactic to shield my alliance m8's yes indeed, but I always break it when I do thus am ready to face the offline masser squad in a online battle no matter the numbers. I think if this option is elimintaed which I am not totally against, then a ratio of size and or power needs to be set similar to ascended so these all strike + nothing snipers/warmongers have to bring a dish to the dinner..in other words you want something but do not want to give anything so settle for what you get and be happy about it.

Strategize..Ive seen 4 alliances war quite effectively using this ppt system, they have to actually PLAY THE GAME and do more than log on and jam eneter..its flavorful ;)

I also like the idea of extra days added for ascenders although not quite sure how it would fair for anyone other than bring on boredom of scrolling.


And another thing, you cannot stop a masser from massing, never have been able to stop a masser like that, the only way its done is to block or ppt.

You can mass the masser JT, you know this because you are one of the few people who actually do it. Even before the alliance PPT was brought in if you were online you always tried to protect your alliance the old way and often succeeded. But others would not try then and now just push a button.

Also if you check my previous suggestions I did once suggest that strike & defense should be linked so you need a def to use a strike, this is one of many far better idea's than alliance PPT.

This thread is funny..its a sniper heaven..I would be all for removing alliance PPT but only if the ability to attack was configured properly..example, you want to attack another player then you have to have a defense power equal to your strike power, and your covert power must be proper ratio otherwise the attack wont work OR you lose your entire strike.

As per your other thread, I agree there should be a link between def and strike, not equal but some ratio, I actually suggested it myself a long time ago, and it's a far better solution to making stats worthwhile than these alliance functions.

well alliance ppts r fine however i still think 12 a week is far too many

id say 7 is more than enough one for each day

and as for the alliance repairs , this function is far too easy for the empires to abuse .hence they got tonnes of players in different timezones

how the hell is the game going to make any monies if massive defences cant be massed cause of the alliance repairs .

i say out loud scrap the alliance repairs , and let the game run more smoothly ](*,) :-k about it
