LHC anyone? seriously, the science behind it is solid, it was impossible to make the end of the world happen via black hole/LHC, and what really concerns me is that there are so many other "scientists" who believed the lies spread about it....

I hope not. Although scientists say the Earth will hit by a Solar Storms or the Earth's Magnetic Field could reverse its self. But we will just have to wait. Do you remeber the Y2K bug. It's the best way to make a buck just convince the people of impending doom and their buy anything.

Has it not occured to anyone the mayans calander simply flips back over and starts from zero again? They wouldnt have had the capacity to understand time is infinate and nor would they have the number skillz!

That being said if it is an apocolypse, i well hope its either aliens or zombies. Solar waves and magnetic fields are so boring! I always love the zombie scenario and am pretty well trained in the art of survival of the zombie holocaust thanks to Mr Romero. If its advanced aliens looking to colonise / harvest then i feel it'd be a fitting end to this world who always squabble amounst each other, to be obliterated by something bigger than themselves.

Will the world end in 2012? most likely not.

Could the world end in 2012? Yes, quite certainly.There are tons of dangers out in the world. You can not let yourself live restrained because of the fear.

on this matter, there is none. this goes for and against. but really, because the numbers on a stone run out, doesnt mean the world will end.

TLDR: use common sense.

bah.... I hate that phrase... common sense. bleh. I cringed just writing it.

(and in general, wiki isnt reliable due mainly to the fact that it is user editable. same with urbandictionary, "E.D." and other pseudo encyclopedia sites.)

The world as we know it will not end on December 21st 2012, just like the Millennium Bug did not strike on January 1st 2000.

However, it will be interesting to see what nonsense will be on the TV and in the Newspapers in the months leading up to Dec 21st 2012.

As for the world ending, I don't believe it but if it chooses to end then I'll have my degree, so it's either the world ending or hell freezing over that'll be happening.

If I'm not riding around on a motorcycle with a sawed of shot gun in 2012.. I'll be thoroughly disappointed.

Buck u do know that they where better in math then we are, atleast at calculating time and to this day their calendar is more advance and accurate then any of our clocks. So yea i think i wouldn't doubt their calendar. And yes i do think it will end early January of 2013. dont ask how i came up with this i just DID.
