Origins Banner Contest

AdminGary has asked to start another competition to make a banner for Origins.
There is no need to signup just deliver your artwork before the deadline and then you are in the contest.

There are a few rules each artist has to keep in mind:

- Images may not be taller then 150px
- The text StarGate Wars and Origins must be in the banner
- Images may not break copyrighted law.
- Any submitted image becomes property of Kingdom Games Ltd.

The contest will run from Friday April 17th till Friday May 1st. Good luck to all participants.

Note to all entries: AdminGary just found out that he made a mistake regarding the size of the banner. (current banner is 128px) Please stick to 150 px.

From my understanding, using the name Stargate and Origins in the first place is breaking copyright law, along with Goa'uld, Replicators, Tok'ra, Asgard and Tau'ri, not to mention many weapon and unit names, and even some of the images already being used is probably breaking one copyright law or another.

I just used the images from the TV show to provide an insight on what StarGateWars is based on, as well as providing a small insight on the race being used by the player seeing the banners.

I'm just making the images, I don't really gain money out of it, as the $50 SS bonus being given here is only in the form of game resources, which I believe at the moment cannot be changed into currency at this point in time.

If you do want to complain about copyright issues, then you should also mention the sigs and avatars that most people here use, along with mine and yours, as many do use many images which may have been protected by copyright.

Anyway, we shouldn't taint this thread any more with talk about copyright laws, as this is purely suppose to be a contest on who can make the best banner for use on Origins. Let's keep it that way shall we?

theres no need to get pissy about it i only asked because its in the rules of the competition to not break copyright law and if u are breaking it ur entry will be null and void. so i asked for ur benifit so u can get a chance to change it if it does break copyright

Sorry Sinper, but the other players are right, we cannot break the copyright laws. It wouldn't be hard for MGM to send us a cease and desist letter if we used copyright images. To the best of my knowledge, the ring from the show, spacecraft, and the jaffa with the snake helmets are all copyrighted. To be safe we just don't want any images coming from the show, movies, or websites.

If you want a ring to place in your images, you can use the one from the login screen.
