For the general talking of things in relation to New Origins.

Live countdown

I've setup a countdown (in days) on the login page of the server. This will give everyone warning as to an approximate launch, and will allow you to bookmark ready for the change over :-D

Registration is permitted, but logging in is disabled.

Sign up NOW to get a lower ID ;)

Also, logging in will be enabled in the next 24-48 hours.

After that, at 06:00 game time on the 5th of October (hopefully) the server will begin ticking over. This separation allows people to build and prepare, but attacking would almost be pointless, as there is nothing to take, that is, till the ticking starts :twisted:

Login is now enabled. Server ticks will begin in 9-10 hours (hopefully)

So are you going to publicize the new Origins in any way, say put it at the top of the SGW forums page? If not, then there's going to be like 5 active players and that's it, kind of dissapointing since I was hoping for a full rebirth and Origins becoming once again what it was three and a half years ago.

Yes, that is EXACTLY the plan ;)

Spoke with Admin at the meet, he said to send him through a PM with what I want as the global announcement and he will put it on the forum.

Did you have any suggestions to put in that announcement?

Edit: Also just did a mailout to ALL the beta subscribers, to let them know the the live server is up, and its address. You won't get one (unless you'd like one) since you are already active :)

If I don't count my account, 4 people have activated theirs.

Sent out an e-mail to all the beta users that we were live, and where it was at only 4 hours ago, so hoping a few of them will activate also over the weekend and the coming week.

Then hopefully with the forum announcement also, more will join.

*grin* Sara, you did discuss this with Jason, didn't you? He kind of promised everyone the email he sent would be a one-off, and the distinction between Origins and Gatewars is a little fuzzy; fuzzy enough to make it look like one and the same for the unobservant viewer.. who will then think they get spammed.. :)
