why the spike in uu price?

i mean it has been sitting still at what 600mil/k for months and now it shoots to 650? why, lol i was just going to start buying lots :(

we should boycott the noobs who keep driving the price up, we are doing them a favor in the long run 8)

Re: why the spike in uu price?

Don't think it is right to blame noobs for driving up the price.

And the price goes up depending on how much naq is in the game. I remember when UU were 50m per K.

So maybe the market is just adjusting itself.

Re: why the spike in uu price?

It is going up due to UU being worth more, as many people are of a size big enough to buy uu in large quantities now

Heck, i remember when 40mill per K was a great price i unfortunately sold too much while i was still small and growing

Re: why the spike in uu price?

I thought the BM prices were influenced by the ingame market!

and you could buy 1k UU for 40mil

Re: why the spike in uu price?

The only way to the market would go back down to 600mil is if another big war broke out which would stop most of the buyers.

Err, that price never existed. At least not on the market. Buying UU as we know it today started when admin changed the ingame market to disallow people from getting UU on the market(instead you receive lifers now). The opening price at that time was 250m/k.

Thats incorrect
Prices were alot lower than that.
Once miners were introduced the price, almost doubled due to miners generating 80 naq per turn rather than 40 naq

The price you are thinking about was at around may 2006

May 2006
UU - 270,000 - 290,000 each
Turns - 2,700,00 - 3,000,000 Each
Market turns - 1 - 1.5 Billion Each

January 2006 was the time in which miners and raiding were introduced
Trading UU, Naq has been around much longer that that

Re: why the spike in uu price?

back when I started was end of January 06 so just after miners were introduced

I had SS since the day I started but never traded with another player until April

I trade with STI and got 350mill/k

I thought it was awesome to get that amount of naq...

I grew pretty well

Nowadays it must be so easy for someone to grow with 650mill/k

I dont complain tho I create threads buying UU at 650mill/k and I get my UU a lot quicker than if I were to put it at the average market rate...

I dont mind saving another 15 bill naq for 300k UU if it means I get my UU in an hour rather than 4-5

its all about convenience

Yes, but it's always been cheaper to buy MTs instead of buying UU so the UU market was rare at best.

Re: why the spike in uu price?

The price goes up because there are more buyers, and those buyers are more impatient.

People who want UU, and want it now will put a "WTB" thread up and say "650/k" or even higher.

The flip-side is that the sellers can be less patient, waiting less time to sell their UU at a higher price than they were before, and sell it faster.

UU sellers that are still patient, can put up "670/k" or higher and wait. Eventually someone will come online who wants their UU now and finds that only the 670/k or higher guy is online.

Buyers being impatient drive the price up. If everyone who bought UU said "I will not buy at higher than 620/k" then it would drop down to that level.

It's currently a sellers market.

Re: why the spike in uu price?

Well I have a thread selling 4-5 mill UU at 740mill/k

and since I've had that there I haven't sold UU but more and more people keep making threads closer to the 700mill/k mark

eventually I will help outprice smaller accounts

then I will have done what I set out to do and I'll leave the market alone proving it can be altered by just one person

Re: why the spike in uu price?

I don't know if my mind is playing tricks on me but hasn't the price been higher than this in the past. The funny thing is if u look at ther prices they are cyclic slowly going up but best to buy on monday when there is lots of UU and sell on sat/sunday when there is less and the price higher
