Cyber Bullying

So I would like to bring this to discussion and hopefully something done about it.

"Cyberbullying is the use of the Internet and related technologies to harm other people, in a deliberate, repeated, and hostile manner"

The pursuit of Moderators in game, attacking there friends, threatening them, IMO is cyber bulling. This is just one example, but I think something needs to be done about this from an administrative level. People should not feel afraid to do there jobs nor come on these forums and speak without having someone threatening them. Yes, this is a war game, and in war you fight, but threatening, going after there friends, associates and so forth is an extreme and should be considered cyber bulling.

Maybe, but what do you do when someone is unrelenting and attacks you at every turn, via words, threats, in game massings just for "talking" on these forums.

The internet is 95% porn, 4% trolling, and 1% other.

Lableling every little thing as bullying is just feeding into the hypersensativity craze of society.
People are jackasses. We always have and always will be. If you can't take the punch and dish it back online you sure as hell are going to have a problem in rl.

You as in people, not you tet.

Good points. However should there not be a point when some type of intervention be used?

It never hurts to attempt a nicer community. Can't happen with this game though.

I'm rushing out of work, but I will contribute this for discussion.

How do we separate cyber bullying between the forum and the game?

One tactic of the game is to sit on an account, even accounts whose owners have had no interaction with the person sitting on their account. What makes this action different from sitting on the account of someone whom they met on the forum?

Is the mere interaction between the users enough to classify the perfectly legitimate in-game war tactic as cyber bullying? Or are Moderators supposed to wait until a user complains about being sat on before they then punish the account owner's forum account for their in-game account actions?

How is a forum Moderator expected to know whose forum account correlates to the in-game account?

The cyber bullying in game is that of numbers, if nasty PMs are exchanging, then the sender can be blacklisted.

The bullying on this forum is far worse than anything I have seen in game.

For reference: viewtopic.php?f=129&t=196234

This was a previous attempt at bringing it to attention Tetris, might be worth a quick going over before you over indulge.

To get the cyber bullying out pf this forum, the rules need to be incredibly simplified, install a points to bann system ( easily done) and keep the staff out of controversial threads. Yes run the forum as you would a quality, productive coorperation and not how your( or whomevers) sex life is run where you just **Filtered** anything or say anything you want just because you should or do have the right to do so. Tighten this **Filtered** up. :-D

There is so much unchecked forum rules breaking going on this forum is nothing but a pit to be bullied and staff is leading the way in much of it..too many loopholes to crawl through within the current rules structure.

Taps foot and whistles waiting for one of the usual suspect trolls to come along and drag their war into another discussion.

You just dragged the war in. Good job.

Every rule book in history has rule books. The perfect system would be no rules and common sense left up to the people in power, but a) that's easily abusable and b) everyone (including me) would **Filtered**, stomp and complain.

There's no perfect system. What we have isn't all that bad, people just tend to see bias where none exists and ignore bias where it does exist.

Every rule book in history has loop holes*

Teaches me to type on a phone.

When you start making sense JT, you'll get responses. That last post has more gibberish than all of santa's forum combined. #-o

That's funny, my post was more on topic than anything you've dribbled since. #-o

There's no perfect way to mod a forum with so many conflicting personalities. Anyone who thinks there is or tries to make one is an idiot.
