Is this game dying a slow death?

Over the past few months, it has seemed as if only the same few people are ever comming onto the forum and posting. Given that there are over 69,000 accounts in GW i would tend to think that more people would come on and post.
What are your thoughts on the future of gatewars?
Any of the Mods have statistics of daily views? (Bar graph)

Not more of these threads? Oh god! lol
69,000 accounts you say? and how many active? No way near that many.
I havnt been on the forums for THAT long but they still seem pretty active right now, lots of lovely rp going on that i can see, plenty of spamming and loads of friendly banter. AND the server war is doing something again, who knows what but at least the stagnation in the pond is being swirled around

I've been hear a year and a half longer than you Jim
I can tell you for sure that this board seems very dead from 2 years ago.
Yes this thread may be beating a dead animal with a stick, however this needs to be adressed.
As you say, there are noway near 69,000 players, I cant even see 2,000 people playing activley. I fear that this was just another DOT com idea that made money for one person, and lives only a short life.

you maybe right! in fact im pretty sure you are, however in my point of view people wouldnt be playing this game if they didnt enjoy it and plenty of people still do. If people stop enjoying it then they will stop playing it so i dont really see the problem. This game has done very very well to last this long if you think how basic it is!
Its the players that make the game and there are still so many great people playing!

I don't think it's going to last too much longer if J doesn't fix some issues with the game. First thing I'd add is a short blurb on the importance of using the forums when making a new account.. That alone would probably help increase the community size a lot. Then there's the Military Exp problem- It makes no sense. You can lose a million units for every 10 you kill and still "be ahead" in the ME ranking, which I would think is completely retarded in it's own.. Then there's the actual calculation problem where some/most/everyone's total ME is doubled from what it actually is, don't see any point in that.. More problems include the war statistics which doesn't work whatsoever as far as I know, and random spelling/grammar mistakes littering the game.. o_O
And then there's motherships.. In itself, a great idea and part of the game, BUT, still needs work if you ask me. Does having two hundred thousand layers of shields make any sense? I don't think it would be too difficult to switch the name of them to Shield Generators or something of the like.. Then when they get destroyed it could say, "Randomd00d152 opened fire on IRGuy163's mothership, Teh N00bifier, and managed to overload 6254 shield generators!! The damage was so great that it temporarily knocked out all shields! Ripping through the shields, Randomd00d's fiery blasts of utter destruction annihilated 13,842 of Teh Noobifier's [...]"
Went off a bit there but, you get the picture
Shields = Bad
Shield Generators = Good
So, to summarize.. J needs to start working on some updates for main.. Not "upgrades" but just updates to current stuff that doesn't work to it's fullest

Jason needs to start Advertising more, if he wants more players to come to this game. If not, it will eventually die.

You do not want me to go into the topic of 'Twitter'. I've never used it, never have, never will, but if you really must have me speak about it..best to ask on MSN because I'm afraid it might result in me being banned off this forum if you ask me about the site called 'Twitter'.

It's not 69000 accounts. Its about 175000 at last count. And one of the most ridiculous things I've seen (and there are many lol) was an inactive ranked 1930 a week ago.
Games start off well, then the oldies get too big and the noobs can't catch up (and before you start with the noobs have never had it so easy argument, how long do you think it will take for your average noob with no connections to do say 15 ascentions, get 300m units and a 1 trill MS?, and that's before they get picked on and farmed daily by the many who like to throw their weight around) It just aint going to happen as is demonstrated by the 97% who leave.
Forum needs to share his thoughts on the future of his game. We can't sit here and debate this in a vacuum. The way I see it, the game has lacked a real purpose for a long time now.
And Noobert, I echo your sentiments on Twitter

yeah but that's Colton. He proves it's somewhat possible but the 40000 others who have signed up could not do it. Once we know the reasons for that then we can fix the game

I know, I realise that and understand what you're saying. But I make the point that for every 1 "Colton" there are 100 who don't stick with it and we need to know exactly why.
Maybe an exit survey would help. In between the "delete account" button and the "Are you sure" screen
