1. No
2. Yes, the title I held was Service Specialist where I worked with a team of other service specialists in customer satisfaction, leading to 3
3. Yes > I had direct relations on a personal level with the members of the corporation I worked at.

the best job description I can give is "The Ultimate Customer Experience". I still hold that job.

Corran Horn wrote:why?

out of curiosity... was thinkin why the general sections seems to be soooo unfriendly, full of ppl whining and arguing between themselves ans/or the mods/admins and generally crap that i don't want to be involved in all this and thats my thoughts:

1) theres forum rules. ppl responsible for setting them and enforcing them should have some legal background if we want to avoid any major disputes about their meaning and interpretation. also they should be unbiased judges and so on.
ya don't need to be a lawyer, 1 year studying it at uni will do (i had 2 yrs)

there is no need at all for a moderator to have any kind of legal background whatsoever, all that is required is common sense when applying the rules they are not a hammer to be used but more guidelines to follow

2) as this is supposed to be a "community" forum admins and mods should act as community leaders. as in other cases, poor leaders - poor team.

3) this is kinda connected with 2) but here the point is the ability to efficiently deal with all disputes, disagreements and troublemakers. there's a lot more better methods than punch in the face and "cos i am mod and a god" attitude. good diplomacy works much better.

i'm not sure if skills gained in the military are relevant here. army is more "goal/mission" oriented while community - "interest/hobby". but wolf, if i ever need a project manager, i'll give ya a shout ;)

team leader qualities would be useful yes but again it all comes down to common sense and being receptive to others opinions.

Military skills can be useful as they teach teamwork be it leading or working within a team.

Re: QUESTIONS TO THE MODS (AND ADMINS)

indeed eriond... there are forum rules, not forum laws... for one, they arent written in some archaic form of language...

legal background is useful, not manditory...

common sense? ya can argue with somebody's "common sense". but ya can't argue with LOGIC. legal training gives one the ability to use logic in creatinig, interpreting and enforcing rules (or guidelines, as ya wish).

@spacey: i'll answer yer pmed question when i have a time to go throug all the stuff here again and pick up certain posts and/or threads

Re: QUESTIONS TO THE MODS (AND ADMINS)

how large portion of police officers have studied law for long time?

after all, the mods are to forums as the police are to RL, are they not?

it only takes one or few to write the laws, and only those need to have the background for writing them... but it does require that much skill to enforce them... (if it does, then they are poorly written... for then the public wont be able to read them anyways...)

I think I see what hes trying to say,,, and If I'm right I agree with what hes saying. Better wording and defining the "guidelines" is a good thing.

Talk more about this, I'm intrested.
