To all the Mafia-gang-like Alliances out there

from what I read from the x amount of pages this could have been avoided by the OP.

1. If you are smart don't look for inactives in alliances. Especially Alliances with as much power as the ones you attacked.
2. Choose your words wisely when trying to be diplomatic. Some alliances kill the messenger if they don't speak right.
3. If you just got massed why go and farm another alliance that is just bad news.

In my own opinion though it may not matter in comparison to others in this game. You deserved what happened to you. I am in an alliance that is known for our Diplomacy for the most part (as well as our stat building you guys don't have to point that out ) if you ask any player in the game they will say that what you did was a bad idea if you were not prepared for the repercussions. All you can do is learn from this experience and not make threads like this which single you out as a player that is against people playing this game a certain way.

I wish you luck however, I am sure most players are not going to allow you to live this down.

got tired of reading through all the pages but a piece of advice is that things happens whether it be good or bad or worst, you move on, grow big, join a good alliance, grow bigger and powerful and get back at them when your strong enough, other than that dont stat build because nothing lasts forever...

I see the point of several in here. I hate to chime in, but I may as well. It's unlikely this will be read.

I do vehemently disagree with the very, very basic description of this game as a "war" game. It's so much more than that. For some, for many, it is a war game. But this is one of the most entertaining text-based games I've ever played and it's not just as basic as many here make it out to be. Sure, the big guys can easily mass another and not be phased by that action. It doesn't work the same way for the little guys you're massing. You should know that and understand that, and do it without making some flippant comment about it.

To others, this game is about politics and personalities -- and I think that is what enhances this game above the most basic massing mentality. Still, I'm not begrudging the massers. I can see why it's so fun. One of the first people to ever speak with me on the IRC channel was Whacky, who is an extremely nice guy with devious and entertaining tenets as a masser. I was awed by his basic principle of random massings and the joy he got from it. And in that I got to know him a bit better.

This game isn't just about war. It's about getting to know other people. It's about foreign affairs and learning how to function in a social environment to come to compromise.

At it's most basic core, yes, this game is about war. But that's exactly and all that is left with war: It's basic.

To the new guy: Join an alliance (try to avoid those in the big war). People here are friendly, I promise. Even the massers can be very, very nice and I think you'll find that if you hang out more. Don't get worked up just after a few incidents.
