Lets go back to the belief that a dude in a white towel created women from a spare rib, put all the knowledge in the world into a apple and has talking snakes.....and thats just book 1.
:-D

How about the Egg that Night and Chaos laid, that brought forth everything?

I don't affiliate myself with any religion or ism, their all as bad as each other.

I know a lot about Scientology and no one has yet disproved or countered any of the arguments or fact that I have posted.

So now it *is* a debate? I thought it was established that this thread was solely intended as an anti-Scientology thread? A belief which then was reinforced by the irrational and aversive mentality displayed by you all..
My goodness.. you guys are as fickle as a pickle with a speech disability.

Edited post by myself because I will have problems if I keep it going...I have been silenced.
So I quit this debate.

I feel a bit apologetic for my previous post. It was written rashly as I dont like been given youtube links as proof.

I dont either. I lost my faith a few years ago when i decided there were too many holes in it. I only get
agitated religiously when I think that someone elses beliefs are being unfairly attacked. I'm sorry for my post it was simply ignorant.

I'd love to. I promise that I will behave more responsibly than my previous post indicated. I'd love a good religious debate.

good man, saves me a job.

Lois, think of this as more of a one sided discussion, lol. Even though you are very clearly holding your own against such a tide.

I suppose from my point of view all these ideas and religions are not really my concern because I am certain most contradict themselves in an amazing amount of ways or are completely and utterly foolhardy. They have been debated over so many times and you always have believers who do not accept the logic and you have the aggressors who are incapable of seeing greater things in life beyond the material. I could go on..lol. its all a barrel of apples.

Re: Scientology: good or bad?

im not against the beliefs of scientologists (although i think they are stupid  ). everyone has the right to worship as they wish, as long as it doesnt affect other people.

but i am against their actions. they do some mad things you wouldnt believe until you have looked into them.

this was intended as a debate to raise awareness. the fact that it is mostly anti-scientologist shows that people know this cult is bad, and they post their part.

if you look into scientology you will find bad things. fact. some of their actions are strange, illegal, cruel, unreasonable and greedy. fact.

jus have to do some research. after you look we'll see if your opinions are the same. . .

Re: Scientology: good or bad?

1. a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

1. a particular system of religious worship, esp. with reference to its rites and ceremonies.

cult or religion is there that much difference really?

On the basis of help to the individual (in so helping the whole) both mainstream religions, and what are considered cults generally have the same effect.
Generally the results are positive. Does it really matter if the idol being leaned on is either an alien or the product of some higher being?

I think a belief system can focus on the betterment of the human condition
in the present far does more than a belief system that is selling afterlife insurance.

Re: Scientology: good or bad?

Organized religion needs to ended, it is one of the root evils of the world, don't get me wrong on this, your entitled to your beliefs, but religion must not be allowed to cause the suffering of anyone.

I would hope that humanity would in the 21st century look inwards to our own individual spirituality.

I can say that I've had a close encounter with the cult of Scientology, it sucked in a close friend of mine, and let me tell you now, it destroyed him financially, physically, emotionally and mentally.

Beware.

Believe what you will, but do not force others into servitude.
