what is the percentage ratio for fleets totally destoyed. i thought it was 5x or 20% but tday someone was succesfully attempting to chew their way thru a platform that was approx 6.7x their fleet power???

If you have 10% of platform def strength, your fleets won't get destroyed.
So you have to build 11 times their fleet power, cause sometimes your platforms inflict less damage then normal.

Try 15 %
If you have more then that, they are unable to attack your planet thus they can't mass it down and steal it.
Edit: Last time I checked, mobile and stationary get count individual.
A.E.: I got 300bill def on a planet and 1.8 trill platforms, they need 180 bill fleet strength and not 210 bill.

so to keep a planet *untouchable* their fleet strength must be less than 15% of your ground def, or 10% of your platform yes?

And 15% of normal def.
So : 900 bill platform and 1.5 trill normal:
= 225 bill strike min and not 360 bill
3trill platform and 500 bill normal def
= 300 bill strike ( If I made it clearer this way.

Are you saying that the platforms and planet defences work irrespective of each other.
So in other words, the calculations are done seperatly.
So If a fleet has more than the 15% needed of the planet defence they are allowed to attack.
Then all the attacker needs to have is more than 10% of the PDP with full fleet power to not get 0'd. Ignoring the fact that lots of the fleets should be being used up on the planet defences.
This would mean that if 10% of your PDP power is lower than 15% of your Planet defences, your PDP's are completely irrelevant. I.e they will do nothing, just get destroyed.
I will test this sometime if this is what you are saying.

To be allowed to attack, fleets must be over 15% of the planet defences power, otherwise it is considered a suicide mission, ol' kamikaze style and the pilots are not religious fanatics. They like to be alive.
To damage PDP all you need is a fleet.
To not get "devestating damage" and loose all the fleets you send you need to have, 10% (or a fluctuation there of) of PDP+Planet total power.
