ETL was someone who didn't make too many appearances on the forums. If he did it was for a good reason and was always a treat.

I didn't deal too much with the guy cus he was always busy with more important things like running an Empire. What I remember best about him was REK and him competeing for the Supreme System God (SSG) title on the forums. We fun to watch that.

Another memory was discussing with him the war plans with TLE, passing info, having him in the mass convos when there was big MS's floatin around or someone needed help.

Good times.

The game will go down before that happens ofcourse. But I hope THIS time Jason (as he was the same admin back then from other game) sells/gives his game to the community with all rights etc.

I have seen this before as some other in this game have before.

The game didnt make him enough money to keep the server(s) paid. From one day till the other the game was down as well was the forum.

All that history of a few years gone...

So I am drawing the near future here.

The next thing that happened in the weeks to follow were people searching for contacts they had on msn. A sort of an emergency-forum was made, where ppl still could get some info. But it wasnt set up by the admin ofc.

Really sad thing. So all info on these forums, the fun we are having will be gone in a few months/years from now.

I hope we find a solution...to pay for our own server perhaps.

Id love to buy SGW's.

blackburn and renegade pulled the same thing on me. they came like:
zeek you have to be honest with us. are you a multi ? cuz we have proof you are ! your IP has been matched to 8 other acounts. and then he starts naming some random acounts.

and i'm like what the hell is going on here ?! guys what the hell ?

and they are going:
the omega hit squad is going to hit you in the next 24hours on both servers. they'll descend you and mass you. then you'll be removed from PI allegiance and we'll sit on you.

by then i was scared out of my mind ofcourse, i mean i was a 4mil profeth ...

so i jumped to ascende dand i placed it on vac mode so they coudn't descend me. i told this to blackburn and renegade and was just about to sell my def weapons as tey screamed:

As far as nostalgia, this game is not much as it formerly was. Due to a combination of no updates of substance and the most recent updates being pointless or ill conceived.

The game barely has changed since I left over a year and a half ago. Of course, I'm sure a war that has lasted the entire time might affect it somewhat. Still, no significant updates or changes in gameplay have taken place. Granted, there aren't that many updates possible..but still. For example, the Alliance Bank..still has no use and no use for the foreseeable future.

Lately I find myself reading old character histories or alliance wars. Reading Esker, Semper's and others histories really bring me back and remind when attacks were political and not for ME..along with all the characters who made the game unique who have since departed. I mean, who even remembers the original bloody sunday or Pianomutt and his massing adventures. Granted they don't matter much in today's sgw, but they're more entertaining than the current landscape of the game.

the old days where fun with this game.
kinda makes me wanna restart in a way.
eg: every1 was given x points for their acheivements of current account.
the game was reset.
those points where then put into effect to buy/ build what ever untill you had no more points then the game begun a new chapter.
-ms's
-planets
-spy lvls all accessable by these points based off your current account.


but the old days where i was a 7 mill messiah and those damn 50 mill COP accounts kept hammering ya was the highlight of my gaming now.
as everyone else says
Guidelines to play sgw
1) create account
2) easy to farm 10 mill in a week
3) get 1000 G n R
4) Supporter status
5) begin trades
6) Mass strike 0 defense
7) Profit

and what can people do about it. nothing. accounts can lay their and lose almost othing and still grow.

I remember a livelier time, but mostly for the problems some people caused. Tok'ra and his inappropriate picture posting and constant banning, RobInDaHood and his steal planets from the rich, abandon for the poor; D-Tox and his ridiculous multi schemes, that ended in a word ban on numerous synonyms of tox and constant IP bans on his accounts.

of course the CoP war(s), although was never heavily involved, always "wowed" at accounts of players like ETL and REK atc.
