Re: Age of Empires ???

I wouldn't be surprised if Empires go down the tube.

But even if they do, theres gonna be at least one guy who misses all that power at his side and want to recreate it.

It'd be easy pickings to make an empire in post apocalyptic SGW. Even now its not too difficult to build one.. assuming one of the Godly Beasts of Doom don't step on you first :smt117 [OE, DDE, TL, heck i'd even be worried about Mayhem.]

For the lulz right? :smt025

Sure player numbers have dropped but for the past 2 years or so it has been around 200 or so on at any one time.

Also u must consider players who get bought by other empires or alliances to move over because they see the grass greener on the other side of the fence.

I also see 174 new accounts have been started from 1 month ago so in essence new blood is coming to this game but at a slower pace.

I bet that only 10% of those 174 new accounts are still active.

The way i see it , the admin needs to bring up some cool updates + advertisement on some major websites.

Even if it is 5%, still, new blood is coming.

Re: Age of Empires ???

"Empires" will persist as long as there are wars to be fought. People like joining big collections of people. Makes you feel like you are part of something a lot bigger than yourself.

The key to the survival of an empire is to be constantly looking for new membership and new active members. The more people you bring in, the easier it is to find new recruits because everyone has friends they can try to egg along to join as well.

It's been evident since before the last server war that this game was slowly getting funneled into a few strong powers to the detriment of other previously strong alliances. It's just the nature of the game. When one Empire absorbs another alliance, all the others feel they have to keep up.

In general, alliances seem to be like accordions. Expanding and contracting based on the needs of the day. At least it keeps it interesting.
