Surely you want it to be a no ascention game so that they can get used to the attack and interaction aspects of the game and then once they get enough points or whatever to ascend to this 'powerful main account' where they are then introduced to ascentions etc.
Also if raiding requires a stargate on both sides what's the point of building a stargate, keep your account without one and just build up untrained units forever and ever.

Yeah, it would make much more sense to get rid of any incremental boundaries - or at least keep them minimal - as it is, me and a few others are uncatchable....within a year of this going live, new players will really struggle to catch up....probably worse than main even.
And when you sab someone your covert goes up against their anti covert NOT their covert. Therefore to defend your account you need anti covert units. Unlike main. Therefore covert is offensive, anti-covert is defensive
ps: does anyone else's bank work?
My bank started working after I ascended.
Yeah, you have to ascend to activate the bank, and then from there, you can upgrade the capacity
