This game will survive time immemorial!
I hear some players concerned that the game is in its death throes. I for one certainly don't believe that. I have always been a gamer for as long as I can remember and I can say with certainty that GateWars is one of the best games I've ever played. Just because it only has a few thousand active members, doesn't mean that that amount will decline until it reaches 0. TBH, having a low membership may make it even better! A few thousand active members (or even a few hundred) makes everything you do in the game that much more profound, important and special (compared to a membership of hundreds of thousands or millions, which ensures any events, wars, triumphs, players fade into the overwhelming crowd). So consider the possibility that maybe we shouldn't want many more members. I'd be willing to wager that GateWars becomes a much adored classic, the kind of game that you find yourself reminiscing about with another former player in a foreign land in a chat room or something 10 years from now. I think most of us, true-blue GW members, will always hold a special place in our hearts for this great game and will remember this time in our lives, the time of GateWars, as time well wasted, and therefore not wasted at all. I know that no-matter-what, myself and a lot of other players are definitely not going anywhere! I'd still be playing GW if there was a membership in the single digits (would make it even more special)!

Not a membership 'fee'. Membership. Less than 10 total players.Guild wrote:dont give him any crazy ideas, he's the type of crazy that would put this into placeSebastian wrote:I'd still be playing GW if there was a membership in the single digits (would make it even more special)!

It is 2012 people. That means in one month the game will be 7 - yes SEVEN years old. I can't see it going anywhere just yet. Just 3 more years until (star)gatewars has a longer life than Stargate SG-1 upon which it was originally based!

Because not everyone at a young age (even older age) have **Filtered** loads of money to spend on consoles and over expensive games. I however do have enough money. But still Dean you are a prime example of someone that just thinks of quality and nothing else. A very narrow vision.
