The Grey

Liam Neeson. Need I really say more?

In Alaska, an oil drilling team struggle to survive after a plane crash strands them in the wild. Hunting the humans are a pack of wolves who see them as intruders.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The ending was amazing, and the ending after the credits made me hope for a second movie..but I doubt it.

Thoughts from anyone else?

Re: The Grey

Liam Neeson at his best, stunning movie with great cinematography, epic wide shots of a beautiful yet desolate setting. I loved the darkness of it, no hero's or crazy unbelievable fights, just people trying to survive against the elements and natural predators without their tech, weapons or tools. And the musical score in the final scene was perfect for the way it had to end.

@ Noobert, only bit I disagree with you on is I hope that dont try to cash in with a sequel, this movie ended just when and how it should.

Once more into the fray
Into the last good fight I will ever know
Live and die on this day
Live and die on this day

Re: The Grey

This movie was good, but there were a few plot holes I disliked.

Why wouldn't they salvage tools from the plane?
Eg: Making snowshoes, weapons, etc.

Why wouldn't they stick together, or put the strongest man in the back to carry the weaker/more injured?

It's just things like this that made it go down a bit in my mind.

The movie was still amazing, and I agree with you Mezz but I HATE when movies end like that. I HATE the desire for more - drives me **Filtered**. :(

I agree on the salvage bit being a plot hole, even if they were no tools/weapons on board you would assume some pieces of the wreckage could have been used, but that would have distracted from the intention that the movie should be man against the wild.

On the sticking together bit, they did slowly and reluctantly begin to work together but at the start of the movie it made it clear what kind of people they were, not team players, not good 'all for one, one for all' types, in fact the opposite and least likely to work together.

As for the ending, have to say I prefer this kind of ending to the usual happy ever, hero gets the gal and wins everything stuff. In reality it dont matter how good or bad, or strong or weak you are, the usual Hollywood endings rarely happen, and this ending was as it should be.

Re: The Grey

I do not want a happy ending, or a bad ending. I just WANT THE ENDING. You know? I want to know what happens, for the ill or for the good.

As for the plot holes, they should have still salvaged stuff because that's essentially what ANYONE would have done, even under those circumstances.

As for them not working together, most if not all would have banded together in that circumstance - irregardless of the kind of people they are due to the fact they wanted to survive against the wolves.
