Re: Game of Thrones
hmm... could probably say the same... should've added an "again" somewhere...
We've read through most of book 1 and 2 again in the past few months... Bu then we derailed on to other books...
The Imp can be quite tricky indeed. He might not be very tall, but his mind is several times more useful than Cersei's. She is ruled far too much by her impulses.
one thing they've done well here is that they've made sure to actually have lots of different types of armor, not just one basic design.

Re: Game of Thrones
To what part are you referring?
There were many forms of sorcery, most of them related to the existence of dragons in some form, others to the various religions. Wildfire, for example, was known to be more potent if dragons were alive. (somewhat related to napalm & greek fire, though with an unique twist to it)
anyways, we rather liked how they portrayed harrenhal. They gave it a rather nice and ominous look.
A heated bucket with a rat in it is a very effective form of torture... the rat really doesn't like being inside it, so it tries to get out. Since the bucket typically is metal, the rat cant get through that. Only area left is to dig through the flesh of the victim's belly. Apparently victims don't particularly enjoy that...

I couldn't help remember 2 Fast 2 Furious.. which made the rat thing slightly less cool lol.

Re: Game of Thrones
True. They pulled that one off nicely. Freakish but nicely pulled off. The fact that the series is not inhibited by the usual pathological fear of nudity helps them pull such stunts off...

I really.. really like the character that is paying the "debt" Arya created.. The Red God demands blood
otherwise seemed like a setup episode and not too much going on

Jaqen is a nice fellow indeed... Even if he hardly influences arya at all for the later stories... would've been interesting if he'd actually influenced her, right?
