A forum search would have shown the account was LK as he had a sale thread

Asking the fake Daku to confirm via PM ingame or inforum would have prevented getting scammed

Looking at the real xDaku's trade threads and various other threads would have shown his real MSN ( one that many in Ricos & DDE already have added )

@ Apostle, how could you think you were buying off xDaku when we were at war and didnt know you owned the account, did you really think FS 2IC would own an account better than the one he was using and sell it to our adversary in a war without telling us ???

Whoever did this was not only looking for steal money, could have dont that my impersonating anyone, but by using Dakus name they were obviously looking to cause trouble between FS & DDE/Ricos

I know admin have already been involved in this, could he not say what IP the scammer used when he/she logged into the account and search the SGW database IP logs for any other accounts logged into from that IP ?

or did someone fake Apostle to buy from LK, then impersonate LK to onsell to Apostle.. hoping neither would notice they had been scammed until too late..

This is the problem, its not just a simple 1 guy got scammed transaction, no matter what...if LK gets the account back, Apostle will have been scammed, if Apostle gets it back...LK will have been scammed.

Maybe people wanna donate to a "help apostle get a new account" fund. i mean just throwing ideas out there. Theres no way anyone, even the admin could solve this...ud have to either be made an account by the admin, just like LK's...if that is even possible, dont know that it is....or youd have to track the guy down and get ur money back. Call paypal immediately id say, demand ur money back, tell them you will sign an affadavit, tell them you want to press charges etc. Also, who did the money go to? Track the person down, they have to have a confirmed email and a name. Any info that you have on this person, name email, phone number...anything u can scrounge up via ur paypal transaction post it on here for everyone to know what to lookout for.

I dont know if this will work out in your favor apostle, however I hope that paypal will be able to go give you your money back. Also just for the record, if it wasnt a paypal balance and it was a bank transfer (i always do those typically) so the funds dont come from ur paypal, but instead ur bank/credit/debit card...theres a high chance you can get the money back by speaking to your bank. You may be required to contact your local law enforcement and file a report against the person / paypal itself...but you have much more leadway if it was done like that.

Why are you looking at it so complicatedly?

So the only identity that was used as a possible impersonation was xDaku, not Apostle or LK.

Sadly I doubt paypal or any debit/credit card will refund anything if money was sent as a gift but worth a try

On reporting to The @Live email host and Paypal, again they wont release details due to data protection, but at the very least they should be made aware of the abuse so they can bad the user and maybe even prevent him/her setting up any more fake email addy's & accounts using their hosting/payment services.

On Admin in SGW, seems to be some inconsistency here, some people get accounts back, others never do

I wonder how much time was between the LK scam and the sale to Apostle, if LK had posted here in the main forum would it have been in time to prevent Apostle from buying the account ? Cant blame a guy for buying an account if no one has reported it stolen and ( NOT accusing LK of anything, I do NOT think he did this ) but right now I could give my account to a friend, have that friend sell it, then report it stolen and get it back.

Admin should set up guidelines on this like Accounts scammed/stolen/hacked must be reported in the public areas within a certain time limit to warn potential buyers.

I also think its worth repeating, all hosts have IP logs, if admin is going to get involved he should go all the way, check these logs and compare them to to see if the IP used by the scammer matches any other accounts in game or in forum.





I really hope you can get some results on this Apostle, money back, scammer identified, rules put in place for future protection of others. Anything I can do to help just let me know.

I have a series of pms in my mailbox from the one that bought it from LK. I guess the person was surprised I booted it out of DDE. they may be useful to help this investigation.

I realize I'm partly to blame for this Apostle and i apologize. I had some problems and needed money right away. I was at work and rushed through the sale. To be honest, i didn't think i had a snowball's chance in hell to get my account back. When admin responded, i was ecstatic. If people think i had something to do with this, i don't know what to tell you. I've done tons of money transactions and made lots money on sgw, no need to scam. But Apostle, there are things you could have done too. Maybe you were in a hurry too, i don't know. But I still had possession of the ascended account, so that may have ben a red flag, when he couldn't give you the ascended details. Also the fact that he sold for less than i was selling in my thread. Why would he buy the account and sell it a week late,r for less? Anyways, if anyone needs more details, let me know.

Most likely the scammer offered a cheap price for a quick deal and put time constraints on it to minimise the chance of checks being made. Anyone doing such should immediately raise red flags. Honest traders will allow you the time you need to do such checks, they have nothing to hide.

I got a message from Apostle, so I assume he was attempting to buy my account.

I was selling my account and was scammed by someone with msn xdaku@live.com. I lost control of the main account to said person but kept the ascended details, since payment wasn't made as discussed. I immediately notified admin I was scammed and they should hold the account while it's being investigated. It took admin awhile to respond, but eventually they determined the account was scammed from me and returned control of the account to me. Admin returned control of the account to me today. I'm finding this very odd to be honest. You know that I have only EVER had good comments about you.

The issue that I am failing to understand is that Jason has NEVER returned ownership of an account because they believe it was scammed. He has in the past shown pity and offered to duplicate an account to the standard when scammed.

I'm afraid, this seems extremely odd old friend. I am highlighting Jason's attention to this and asking if this is indeed the case.

FM, just because you are not aware of accounts being returned to those who could prove their ownership, does not mean it did not happen.
It just means that, as is good conduct, the people who accounts are returned to do not post this on the forum. *wags finger at Kat* I know how often this happens, and yes, it is rare. It is rare that people have enough proof to convince admin. There are a lot of subsidiary factors in deciding whether or not accounts are returned. But hey, good to see you do not know everything yet.

possibly my bad, but had impression that Apostle thought he was buying straight from Kat.. and it was "this Kat" using the daku email addie..

JT maybe you can get the ISP of that person that brought it from Kat and pass on to admin as well..
