I'm not really a noob but I think I made a noob mistake.

I accidentally changed commander's .. to myself... Now I can't get my original commander back. I've waited out the 24 hour commitment, it just doesn't give me the option to make him my commander. If I go to any other player's page I do get the option.

Is this standard? is there a way I can get dude as my commander again?

depends on if he shares ur IP adress and if he does u cant go bak to him

Best bet is to send him a message, more than likely he hasn't got his "accepting officers" box ticked and needs to change that before you can join back up.

yeah, that I have done. I'm concerned with the IP thing now too, because I know he's logged onto his account from my house twice.

did you try setting him once as your commander only?
try waiting 24h after you tried it once then it should work.

had once the same problem, i think it waits 24h after you try changing your commander if you were set as your own commander, before letting you actually change commanders.

I've waited the 24 hrs. I know so because it gives me the option to add others as my commander. I just don't want others, I want this guy. He's the one that got me to log on to this game, he's protected me, and still even though I'm at a rank of 1500 gives me advice when i need it.

thank you all for your help so far. He hasn't logged on to tell me whether or not he's got his "accept new officer" thing checked, so that still could be the problem as well

ok he logged on. It was the "accept officer" thing. Now it's saying I can only change once per day.. but I've waited the 24 hrs. I'm thinking when I dismissed myself it counts as a commander change maybe? guess I'll wait another 24 hours. Thanks everyone for your help

Yup, dissmissing yourself counts as well.
But, you can direct swap from being your own com to having a new com.
So next time, don't dissmiss yourself, just go straight to your new commander.
