I played in an age where MT's were valuable sources of AT's and UU, and newer players would sell MT's to power houses. Now that the age of social interaction is at a low, and the age of Planet hunting has taken over.
My suggestion is the ability to sell (broker) Merlin days between people. People being you and i exchanging NAQ/AT's/UU for merlins and NOT between accounts or same IP location accounts. With this day and age, i think Merlin will become a huge market for younger and veteran players.
I know this game's income is based on buying Merlins and/or AT's from the black market. Which is why i would suggest to Buff the NAQ and UU amount you recieve per $1 to help the income for the game's income decreasing from this update. At the moment it is $100 for 420T, that is ludicrous and not worth doing in any circumstance since the current rate is 1Quad/$35.
Anyway that's all i got, would love to hear pro's, rants and bashings for posting this suggestion and to see if it's even worth considering. Thank you

Re: The ability to sell/broker Merlins
I like it. The black market especially has needed an overhaul re naq/UU rates for years - and the supporter packages need to be increased in those areas, as well as UP, to make them a beneficial option other than the merlins.
Regarding merlins being a tradeable resource, it would make the player markets more active, however you then increase the issue of players stockpiling them and making totally untouchable planets - when planets were never meant to be a permanent increase to an account.

God no, never going to happen.
About a 1000 reasons why it's a terrible idea, but I'm only going to list the most obvious.
Anybody could perma protect 10 planets a week for zero cost.

People are already Perma-protecting their account with strict ppt and vac'ing schedules making their whole accounts perma-protected anyway. This at at least gives more options for people

Re: The ability to sell/broker Merlins
Another huge reason why this would never happen is that it is one of admins main source of income on a game that is dying. Putting this update in the game means that it would limit the cash he gets from people spending $$ on the internal black market to keep their planets protected.
Just a fact.

Re: The ability to sell/broker Merlins
Personally, I like the idea, but think it'd be bad for the game.
Planets are already almost untouchable when people spend money. If they can get their hands on more merlins, I don't see it being a good thing. Sorry.

Re: The ability to sell/broker Merlins
Flip side of the coin is, $$ spenders already have perma merlins, this could even it up for non-$$ spenders.
The trade broker reports trade from Surtr to *Teesdale_ of 100,000,000 Naq for 33,000,000,000,000 Naq is complete.

Re: The ability to sell/broker Merlins
Yes, it would even it up, but that just means everyone has untouchable stats again.
Unless calculations are changed, I just fear that we'll get to a point where being massed doesn't mean anything. When 1/10th of your stats come from actual military force, and the rest from an untouchable source (merlin'd planets), it just seems like a bad idea to me.
Again, if the change goes through, personally, I'll be happy. But for the longevity of the game, I'm not sure its the best idea.

Re: The ability to sell/broker Merlins
Like i said earlier, a lot of planets are already untouchable with permanent ppt's and vac on top of merlins.
Opening a merlin market in my opinion help the strict no $$$ spending players out a lot and welcomes newer players to engage others for a nice naq boost.
Getting massed nowadays is not that big of a deal, people are massing just because they're bored and ME hunters have become plentiful. This game has turned to the high planet stats account strategy in order to survive, or investing a hefty sum for a huge MS. Having both makes you a monster to deal with, and this game is long past planet nerfing since it hasn't been touched.Unless calculations are changed, I just fear that we'll get to a point where being massed doesn't mean anything. When 1/10th of your stats come from actual military force, and the rest from an untouchable source (merlin'd planets), it just seems like a bad idea to me.

Re: The ability to sell/broker Merlins
Merlins represent a large portion of the game revenue that is driven by relatively few people, removing that revenue by making merlins easily tradable would result in the game no longer covering it's running costs and then nobody would be getting any merlins at all
There are plenty of other ideas as to how to combat huge protected planets, giving everybody merlins is not the answer.
