dont like this idea at all, planets cant be tagged, if you lose it fight those that took it, if they dont have it then just face it its gone, starting to wish admin would get rid of planets tired of so much moaning about them.

Hmmm, maybe that's a little harsh. But when I first suggested exploration for motherships, I envisioned the effects of a discovery to be one time or temporary, not semi-permanent and stealable. On the one hand, it puts some good fighting incentive into the game. But on the other hand I think they may have become a little too important, since you can invest so much naq into them.

I think it is a wonderfull idea... stats really are not an issue...

Ppl, imho, don`t really mind loosing a planet to a guy who then puts def on it and fends off a counterstrike... I mean not as much than to one of those planet stealing multis that "looses" it in the next 60sec to cover up cover tracks... For a game that enforces 1 account per player rule this is set up so it actually encourages ppl to go out and make planet stealing accounts for themselves. And they are cropping up like mushrooms after rainfall... I personally have yet to se one of them deleted (If I am sorry I appologise) and I sorta understand it would be way to much work to check every reported pirate account IPs. So make these multis "obsolete" by having the ability to track the planet, atleast for a certain period of time... Level the playing field. Pll who have "mates" that "don`t play anymore" use them for this kind of "planet laundring", and that is what bothers ppl.

I mean its ilegal in RL ffs :P

I think this needs a bump. At least we could have a way of tracking our planet when a multi planet thief steals it.

yes, it is a good idea that would partially stomp muliestealers. it would need fine tuning, like how long you can track it. but all in all its a sound plan.

how ab0ut have the stats of the planets be interchangeable?

what i mean is that the population may not necessarily want to stay on the planet when its taken so they use escape pods etc to head for your main planet?

Im not suggesting you get UU from the planets when theyre stoolen, but make them useless to anyone else when they get stolen.

This would solve the problem of planet thieves and make them worthless to sell?

When you replace your planet, you simply make the population of your old planet move onto the new one?

Now it wouldnt be practical to make it so all of your stats etc were interchangable, so perhaps lose half your planets population die etc when the planet is stolen and the other half go into your kitty for repopulating the next planet you find?

Wouldn't that make it so all the planets had the same reative value? That update would disadvantage regular players and legitamate thieves, while not hurting the multies overly much.

Exactly, we need some way to have a fighting chance to deter multis. We shouldn't have to stick more unecessary defense on a planet to keep it from being taken by a multi when under normal conditions it might not be taken. The way things are now, multis can take the planets and the planet will be gone with no way of stopping them, or knowing where the planets have gone. It might also help pick out the people who ARE the multis.....

Bad bad bad bad crap crap crap idea.

People moan that this game is unfair to smaller players, lets just go and give the bigger ones a way to track them down good idea :D not..

If thsi was put in.. which it wont be.. the most powerfull players will simply be untouchable, planet thiefs will stop, which as much as i hate them, they are a part of the game now, and furthermore planets will never change hands, because youll know exactly where they are.

if you read the topic, you would see that the idea said the trackers would only last for a few days...

and the more determined thieves could first get a friend to steal the planet wanted, go on ppt, when that ends, have a second friend steal it from the first and ppt, then have a third friend steal and ppt, before stealing it from that friend... and no one but those friends would know the final location... this because more than 5 days have passed...

It's getting piss annoying. this random guy stole another planet and he just massed it down. payed again a fraction of the naq i spent on planet defences to mass it down and grab it and then sell his fleets (although this time he jumped on ppt too).

We need:
Restrictions on planet massing (1 attack per turn MAX)
Longer waiting time until MS can be sent away
Planet cannot be stolen by anyone except the previous owner at least a day from the moment it got stolen
Fleets cannot be sold
Fleets get destroyed in planet assault missions

[yes i wrote the same thing in multiple threads]

Hmmmm, an idea just flashed through my head. It's actually quite a different approach from what's been suggested so far. In fact it's the simplest solution I can think of. Make it so you can no longer steal planets. Whenever you would normally tug the planet to your own system (which still sounds like a wacky concept to me), it will now be blown out of orbit, into the galaxy, and added to the list of vacant planets, ready for another mothership to find it. That would completely take out the use of planet stealing multi's. At the same time it would still allow those who want to, to mass a planet and take it away from a player. They just won't get it themselves, or be able to sell it.

In this scenario there's a lot less reward to massing a planet, while the cost remains the same.
