I need help with some caculations

my income was 172,000,000 with no officers
then my officer joined me so it dropped down to 136,450,341

that's what I did: 172mill * 30/100 = 51.6mill

but 172mill-136.5mill = 35.5mill

that's 2 way to calculate the income that my officer should be receiving but they are different so I know i'm missing something.

I thought I was giving 30% of my income to my officer? How come, when he joined me, I lost less then 30%.. does this mean he isn't receiving that 30%?

(srry if you don't understand)

Honours and Awards

our guess is that you dont have it set to 30%... the numbers seem to match with you having it set to 20%

I got no crit/nox settings
and my income rate is at 30%
maybe my CO changed his income at the same time my officer joined me

Anyway, if I only have 1 officer, to know the amount he is receiving from me, should I do this? :

(my income) * 30 / 70

If you give him 30% then you should calculate your_income*30/100;

where your income_income=(naq_from_miners+naq_from_planets+naq_from_commander)

Your officers get 30% of your total income but you only loose 30% of your income not the income you get off your CO

So say you earn 120mill per turn
20m of that is from your Co
100m is your own

So if you get an officer he/she would get 30% of 120m which is 36m
And you loose 30% of your own income (30% of 100m) which is 30m
So your new income should be 90m (120-30)

Dont quote me on it but im sure thats how I figured it out

Tezeral, when you give income to your officers, it's based on your total income

if you make 120mil/turn, and 20 of that is your co, then:

your 1 officer would be making 36mil a turn (30% of 120mil)
and you would be making 94mil a turn (70% of 120)

Like I said I could be worng but im sure you dont loose any naq what so ever from your commander, i remember seing it when a friend joined me,

He had no miners/lifers as he had only just started, so I was helping him by giving him my income....
his income became around 15million...
He then got an officer and his income stayed at 15million even though he still had no miners/lifers

So you still keep the 20million from your CO, just loose 30% of your own income

(100x.7)+20
(Your income x 0.7) Plus the Income from your CO

Hope that makes more sence

StarGateWars has no recursive functions, therefor the income of your officer is 30% of your RAW! income. Commander income is not included, because of unending functions. It is same with UP. If commander income was included, the income calculation would lag, because your income would have to be calculated from your commanders income, his commanders income, and commander of commander of your commander income. :) As you see, long functions and lots of database activity. That is why instead raw income is used.

So your income is:

Code: Select all

(naq-from-miners)+(naq-from-uu)+(naq-from-planets) * (0.3 for critical alert, etc) * (0.9 if nox on) * (0.7 for 30% officer income, 0.8 for 20%, etc)
+ (commander income)

When your income to officers is:

Code: Select all

((naq-from-miners)+(naq-from-uu)+(naq-from-planets) * (0.3 for critical alert, etc) * (0.9 if nox on) * (0.7 for 30% officer income, 0.8 for 20%, etc)) / (number-of-officers)

From there you see that if you had 0 miners and UU and a good commander that would give you billions of income, your officers would still get a nice 0.

Hope this clears it up.
