Beta Site changes - ascended superweapon & attacks

no changes are on the live server.
all changes will move over at once.
i can only guess at how long till it moves to live server, depends on feedback - if any changes big or small need to be made - and if any additional bugfixes or enhancements are suggested and accepted in this release.
i will say at least a week in order to test the balance of the ascended attacks & superweapon.
chaos resets in a couple weeks, so whether i sneak it in before that, or wait till after, is also a consideration, since i will need to do some work there too...
so - likely either a week -give or take - or 3 weeks - give or take.
since everyone has so patiently waited so long, it might be worth waiting a bit longer, and getting more into the release, and ensuring these updates are as balanced as possible.
but that is my thinking - end descision really lies with the community

there is also new security in this (the needs referrer stuff...) and i have just posted an extended error message for those that fail this check with ways to 'fix' it...if anyone gets the 'cannot determine referrer' error I'd appreciate if they try to fix it on the browser they got it on, with the instructions in the error message - to ensure I dont exclude people unnecessarily from playing

Was result SHE lost all life force reserve. and thats not right.

as for the balance ASCENDED X Defence, don't matter much, since the pratical thing to do is mass the guy first, so its ok.

not sure if every1 else is also losing the reserves, but that why give a 20 mim time for 1-2 days woude be great to test.

Do you only deascend when someone attacks you? I attacked someone, much much higher in ranks and I lost all my LF, just 1 left in reserve. Do my best guess is that only some else, with a direct assault, can take you down.

this is due to the 'dual nature' of ascended attacks. I 'fixed' the display on the logs -- i called it 'defend' if the army was not beat. removed the att/def strength (as what do you measure?), and the 'amount won/lost' is life force...

i thought about you descending yourself on a really really failed attack, but decided against it
so you are left with 1 life. no reserve. and hoepfully enough embarassment not to do that again....

some additional facts on the superweapon:
2day ppt given on being hit by it.
30 day inability to be hit by the weapon again.
thinking (not yet coded) 60 day new account protection from weapon&ascended attacks.
24 hours from being hit, to getting weapon.
weapon can be used/auctioned or lost if neither done within 48hours of getting it.

when reaching the top, liklihood of getting hit by weapon obviously increases. so as you get higher, more focus should go to the 'raw stats', income, and growth rates -- opposed to a pure stockpile of resources.

I think someone posted this already but not sure if it's the same. but on an ascended assault log... nothing major, just a couple spelling and grammar errors...

just drop the has I believe...

also, the button for ascended assault, spells assault "assult". noticed this in several places in attack logs as well...

i'll fix teh assult (guess i have been spelling it wrong for years) but the other one is past/future tense. its not "real" english, but english has no verb tense to talk about past and present in the same sentence, where linear time does not apply. some languages do - like the eskimo or other native indian races...some communities in the amazon too...but not english. So I create the tense
since you already HAD the battle, but are still HAVING the battle, and know when in the future the battle WILL be done. ... see the problem

Freaking devastating! I'd buy that for a dollar! Woohoo! That's a splash of cold water in your face. I must say, not even I, the great Mojo Rising, was prepared for the devastation that this weapon wreaked.

That is incredibly devestating, but does that mean that your command star, and fleets (at least attack, an possibly some defence?) are left intact? How many defense fleets did he have before 8,173 were destroyed?

And, are you given a ppt if it's used on you, if so, how long is it? Do you still get the weapon now if it's used on you?

With that kind of devastation, the only point of the weapon will be to auction back and forth between the big guys. Using it on anyone active would mean basically Mutual Assured Destruction or otherwise, MAD.

I think thats way to powerfull... but thats only my opinion.

I dont think the super weapon is too powerful, even for the top guys it will be hard to purchase em -and cause we got no bank they will have to sell something to buy/bid for it -therfor opening up their accounts for attacks!
in return we know NOONE is safe from destruction if the weapon is used against em, even the top 5 guys!
and the ppt afterwards for the hit person isnt bad either.

Mr. Forum, you had some time to look at the repulsion damage effect yet?
im still worrried if a 100% repulusion level will screw up the deascension-game.
